Re: Openbve Central Line demo
The coding for the route?!
So you mean you have following txt files saved?
WHC - STR Fog.txt
Wood Lane - Liverpool Street Demo.txt
White City P3.txt
an unzipped ATP Codes folder
but not a Central Line Demo.csv?

Re: Openbve Central Line demo
@Ad1992 yes, I downloaded it many times to see if the CSV file would be there but it isn't for some reason.

Re: Openbve Central Line demo
So you have downloaded all the files and you can't get it to work, but the train is only limited to 15kph? What is the problem exactly?
Re: Openbve Central Line demo
Mate no nvidia for me. Family pc crashed Co's of display driver nvlddmkm.sysAd1992 wrote:Ah an intel card....
If I remember correctly those are not the best for some games, I have an Nvidia Geforce and believe me it makes all the difference.
When you say fiddled with the settings do you mean the graphics card, or do you mean the openbve options?

Re: Openbve Central Line demo
Ad1992, I am very impressed. You did a good job. The only problems I've noticed is that sometimes the target speed doesn't match up with the actual line speed and I get a message saying I'm exceeding the speed limit. Same thing when running in ATO. And I've also noticed error messages saying that some files are missing from the train. I believe that they were just exterior files though.

Re: Openbve Central Line demo
Strange. The target speed looks fine to me, and I have never had a message about exceeding the speed limit.
The error messages I believe are due to the way the plugin is set up... Either way we will look in to resolving that in the full release version of the 1992.

Re: Openbve Central Line demo
On the other hand it also sounds like the plugin isn't working properly.
Re: Openbve Central Line demo
To clarify what i meant. The ATO always tries to match the train speed with the target speed. At some places, when it's matching the target speed, a message pops up saying that the speed limit is being exceeded. Same thing when using the coded manual as well. I'll see what areas it usually happensAd1992 wrote:Strange. The target speed looks fine to me, and I have never had a message about exceeding the speed limit.

Re: Openbve Central Line demo
Ad1992, This is fantastic so far, well done! Thank you for releasing this demo as a little taster.
Quick question, I have the demo running fine (albeit slow due to my intel graphics but that's my problem) but can you tell me if the target speed is meant to go up and down like the real thing? At the moment the target speed shown to me is always at 100kph and never changes.
Thanks for your help

Re: Openbve Central Line demo
Yes it is. The target speed should not be showing 100 at all! You have not installed something properly.

I'm glad that you got the route working . However being limited to 15kph I would be thinking that you were in Restricted Manual. When you start the train and press the PgDn button, make sure you press it until you can see the Target speed show on the speedometer.

SAVE OUR SOULS
I I am very sad. I tried an upgrade to openbve 1.4.3, and the whole thing deleted. Then I found out the official site had shutdown. I was scared out of my wits, and after half an hour of searching the internet I found an installer. After 2 hours of copying LegacyContent, I tried loads of routes. Crisp sound, fops of 50 every time, including your demo. Then I tried the C_Stock_v3. It failed. Full download, all files are there. But the announcements don't work and the exterior is crapped. Really. Flashing textures, massive holes in pictures, I tried all settings but nothing worked. Any help???!?!!!!?!!?

Re: Openbve Central Line demo
Absolutely excellent!!
Thoroughly enjoyed an ATO run to Liverpool St (followed by a CM run to the siding). The stations are something else, especially approaching Bank with the lights under the platform.
I must admit I had no time to actually look at the train itself, I was too busy having fun viewing the run from the cab!
I've travelled on the 1992 stock for a long time, I must say reading through the manual I've learnt more about the train. I always find it fun sitting in the front coach, as you thunder into a station, to me it looks like you won't stop but it certainly does, and you can feel the brake force when you stomach lands into the seat next to you (same when pulling away)
I did like the approach to Liverpool Street, just touching the start of the platform, and the train starting motoring through the station, I was like bloody heck, stop! Halfway up the platform the train stopped on a sixpence. I always underestimate the brakes, still had my hand on '1' in case lol!
The tunnels are extremely realistic, mainly dark with the glow of the stations ahead. And the sidings at Liverpool Street were superb too.
Score 20/10.
P.S I know it's free, but do you accept donations? If so, please do PM me for details, I personally would like to make a donation just for the sheer amount of work gone into it.
James.
