Re: Open BVE has stopped working
The BVE or the openBVE? The version? The webpage download site?
The programs options settings of your choice?
The route and the train of your choice?
The operating system of, CPU the GHZ, and the RAM of your PC?
Good day and night for you

Re: Open BVE has stopped working
As far as I'm aware 1.4.2.0 has no issues with Windows 10, so we'll need a little more details
Michelle/ Odakyufan's last version was 1.4.3.0, but IIRC that only really had changes related to AA/AF under Linux, and certainly nothing that would fix any potential crashes.
Does it crash before it hits the main menu, or when you attempt to load a route?
(The main menu is the attached screenshot)
You might also like to try the current build from here:
http://www.openbve-project.net
Whilst I'm not sure whether this will fix your issue, if it does crash, it should produce considerably more helpful error messages!
Cheers

Sir Craigals
Yes, sir Chris Lees has newer versions to try for you at
http://openbve-project.net/download/
http://vps.bvecornwall.co.uk/OpenBVE/Builds/
Sir Chris Lees
I do think your build latest does have the version 1420 in the program menu screen display window
and sir Craigals maybe confusing us to the old version 1420, I do not know?
Good day and night for you

Re: Open BVE has stopped working
I hadn't thought of that, but the build number in the nightly builds is quite a lot longer, so hopefully not
If it is one of my builds, please try using the 'Report Problem' link in the bottom left, and posting the zip file it creates (On your desktop)
What this contains is a log of the crash, which hopefully tells me where things went wrong), and a copy of the previous simulation log, which hopefully tells me what you actually did to cause it!
Cheers

Re: Open BVE has stopped working
That looks like your route hasn't installed properly.
Please let us know which route you're trying to use, and give us a screenshot of how you've installed it.
Posting the log would also help (If you're using one of my builds, this can be accessed from the 'Report Problem' screen in the main menu)

Re: Open BVE has stopped working
The route I'm using is the central line demo, I've sent a report in from the main menu too
I also installed as per the instructions in the install manual

Re: Open BVE has stopped working
I keep a working copy of the programme on my external hard drive just for such problems. I haven't had to use it in many years of the original programme continuing to work just fine. I also keep a back-up of all the Object, Route, Train and Sound folders.
From the photo, above, to certainly looks as if it isn't finding the Object folder, at least.
I am using v 1.4.3.0 on Windows 10 and the programme has worked from the moment I updated to Windows 10 without any problems.

Re: Open BVE has stopped working
Bill may be right. I would recommend to double check that you placed the Central Line Objects Folder itself in
Openbve/Railway/Objects/Central Line
A common thing new starters to OpenBVE do especially when copying files over to the respective folder in the main OpenBVE directory is to copy the folder named "Objects" from the addon that they're installing into the Objects Folder, therefore it kind of looks something like this taking the Central Line as an example
/Openbve/Railway/Objects/Objects/Central Line
And as a result when OpenBVE tried to find the paths for the Central Line objects, the objects would be declared missing so would load a route with nothing in it.
If the above is the case for you, then an easy fix would be to open the Objects folder with the Central Line in, Open a second window, path to the main "Openbve/Objects" folder, and then move the "Central Line" folder across from the Objects folder it is currently in to the main Openbve Objects Folder in the second window, in result that should be able to fix your problem.
Anymore problems post them here, we'll be happy to help.
Thanks and Best Regards,
