openBVE has stopped working (Windows can check online for a solution)

Hi,
I downloaded openBVE and installed the Northern Line for London Underground. However, when I try to open, Windows says that it's stopped working and had to close. Error code:

I run Windows 8.1 64 Bit, with Intel HD4000 Graphics, 8Gb RAM, 1TB HDD, Intel i3 3110M 2.4Ghz. Please reply and help quickly!

hi LiftFan. dont know about windows 8 but have you tried re-installing openbve and have you got ALL the necessary files to go with it. not sure but northern line was for bve2 and bve4 so it might not work properly, but see how you get on.jack

Openbve works OK with Northern line under Win8 on my laptop, so it's not a question of route compatibility.

I had a similar problem when I installed it on my new laptop. The problem for me turned out to be due to openBVE trying to write a default config file to the install directory(I don't think open is designed to do this but it does), which I had put in the program files directory. Windows 8 objected to this stopping the program.

I dissagree lads as i have windows 8.1 and i have had no problems what so ever when i got it of steve grs website.

And it works so i think if you get if of that site and make sure you have installed openAL it will work perfect.

You will probably need to run openBVE as admin then...
