You couldn't make it up!
A short video of the Lartigue monorail railway, which ran from Listowel to Ballybunion in Co Kerry. A (very) short reconstruction exists today as a tourist attraction with a motorised mock-up loco and a few trailer cars. IMO the attraction doesn't come anywhere close to what this bizarre transport feature must have been like.
There was a BVE2 scenario of this kicking about in the past, I once had it but it wasn't really very good. I can state unequivocally that there is Zero possibility of anything like this being re-created as a celtictrainsim offering.

Oddly enough, this was one of smace's creations, and if I recall one of the first products of RouteBuilder
If it was odd and could be done with BVE, he probably tried it at one stage or another!
Lartigue Monorail:
The main route itself isn't much cop, but the reproduction of the museum is actually technically quite interesting, as it demonstrates RouteBuilder's alternate pathing abilities.

The Airport Approach route/ Boeing 737 for BVE2/ 4 is another rather interesting little oddity:

There are some transparency issues, but usable on both of the above. If people are interested, I'll repair them properly and upload at my end.
Cheers

Lartigue Monorail is a quite interesting thing, really good to see such in BVE
And I remember doing "flight" routes in Trainz using M7 with modified enginespec , so I'm pretty familiar with this oddity.

Since 2010, when I started getting into this stuff, I never yet seriously slagged of anyone else's efforts. There's a first time for everything and it's this.
Please don't bother, and be after wastin' yer time on that auld $***€, Chris
Honestly, it wasn't worth the time spent downloading it.

Re: You couldn't make it up!
I've only ever read about this obscure monorail in books - casting my mind back, I vaguely recall seeing the BVE route advertised. It makes me wonder that if this is available for BVE, if the 'Daddy Long Legs' is also out there somewhere. The DDL basically a section of seaside pier on rails - there were some posters up at the KWVR many years ago for it - I'm not sure if it was/is real or not, although it would be a fantastic alternative for the Dawlish section of the GWR!
I recall there was a fictional Maglev route for BVE which ran in Finland and Russia, I never played it myself, although I did see it available on a few websites - did anybody see it/try it?

Monorail route is here.
Again nothing much interesting from the driving POV, but technically interesting, as it was a very early attempt at going 200km/h plus in BVE1.
