OpenRails vs OpenBVE
As many people know about Openrails, it is simulator that uses routes and trains from MSTS, but is better in fact, that people can make higher graphics models. BUT...openBVE is also good, i play both of course and i wanna compare these 2 sims:
OpenRails:
+working junctions
+coupling system working
+mouse controls, yes, you can control train by levers and buttons in cab
+more active community
-paid addons, yes, one train with 3d cab costs 10$, some map 30$, like for that you would get TSW2 with 3 maps and trains included, and cheaper addons
-more complicated, you need to get 2 globals, one for ČD and ZSSK, other for other routes, and some for another routes, also you need to change folders for cab, etc.
OpenBVE:
+IT´S FREE, i know only about one route that is paid, which no one buys, devs to OpenBVE are doing it for fun, not for money
+Simpler, you just need to set up 3 files for route and 1 for trains, also if you like trains but dont know how to use them, this is right for you
+routes that are not in openrails, yes, NYCT, london tube, japanese routes, and also some british, irish and so on arent in openrails, if you want play british, NYCT, japanese routes, then this sim if for you, openrails is about railroads, most american, indian and Czech and slovak.
-No junctions, no coupling, only one track in one session, yes, you cannot shunt, you cannot go to other rail, you need to be only at that one developed, but anyways, that does not mind, in subways (which is most part of sim), you dont use junctions anyway.
-no mouse controls...never mind, in openrails it sucks a bit anyways
-not very active community, not dead but not active
But i hope that in future, some of cons in bve will be resolved

I cannot really find a point in this post... it's just stating the obvious.

Second page of Options-
Enable Panel2 extended mode under advanced options. (IIRC this is on by default for new installs)
Not exactly perfect, but not too bad either.

Re: OpenRails vs OpenBVE
Anything.
It detects the panel element subject and works accordingly. There's a minimum size for the element to be detected, but that's it.
It's experimental though.
