OpenBVE for Android
Hello,
A technical suggestion for IT + OpenBVE fans ;-)
OpenBVE seems working with LINUX.
Android, which is installed on the majority of mobile phones and tablets is derived from LINUX.
Is it possible to imagine OpenBVE for Android?

Re: OpenBVE for Android
Possible, but Android apps generally run on Java, and Open is C#, and Mono would need modification to suit Android.

The Ubuntu Phone OS is coming along too, and as OpenBVE runs on Ubuntu, and the Ubuntu Phone OS is very close to regular Ubuntu, it should be easier to run OpenBVE on it. Of course, the UI must change.

And Ubuntu for Android also seems to be available shortly...
If OpenBVE is able to run on Android (such as TrainZ), then the potential interest may increase significantly.

What? But what about iOS? If TrainDriveATS is on iOS and runs similar to openBVE, why cant openbve be on iOS?

Because iOS is simply hell for developers, to begin with the App Store, requiring us to go to Cydia, and it would require porting Mono to iOS.buckysam wrote:What? But what about iOS? If TrainDriveATS is on iOS and runs similar to openBVE, why cant openbve be on iOS?

That's ok. My iPod is jailbroken already, so I can get it. But what the heck is Mono? I thought that was some kind of disease.

Mono is basically the .NET framework, which, while working on Windows, is mostly meant for platforms that aren't Windows, such as Mac OS X and *nix.buckysam wrote:Drag0nflamez wrote:Because iOS is simply hell for developers, to begin with the App Store, requiring us to go to Cydia, and it would require porting Mono to iOS.buckysam wrote:What?
