Guys, does anyone know this website? They provide free textures and allow their usage in computer graphics... some of the textures are very good and they also have rail ones!

Thanks very much for that link Derryck, thats a fantastic website, I will be using some of those for sure! I have found the concrete pattern I've been looking for for ages now!!

Yes I would say so Derryck, very useful indeed, I will be heading to that website shortly with a memory stick in my hand to download a few to use when I get home from work this afternoon.

I am not too sure about the registration part though. It says something about 15MB account and therefore I am quite curious whether these 15Megs are for downloading, or uploading your own work... it would be a shame if it was the first option. There are not many websites with free textures... Mad

Hi, I emaild CGTextures to get clarification as to the use of the textures, this is the reply I received........quote..

This depends, are the objects released under an Open Source licence such as GPL or Creative Commons? It is not allowed to release images from CGTextures under an Open Source license (even when modified).

If they are released under a 'closed' license then it would be fine.

I agree I'd happily share any of my textures with anyone within the community that could find a use for them, at least we don't have to then abide by anyone elses rules etc.
