Re: City and South London Railway
It looks like a good piece of work, pity the conversion is difficult...
Re: City and South London Railway
Of course I have the original files. I will send you a PM, maybe you can help me out, it would save me weeks or months of work!Wongie2009 wrote:Do you have the original MSTS train? Re: City and South London Railway
I think the conversion could be pretty simple, There was a program released that could convert .s files (used by MSTS & I have the program) into a .3ds file that was intended for converting MSTS stuff into Railworks.
But with the .3ds file you could in theory put into Blender and export into .b3d for use in openBVE, It could require some rebuilding of the mesh (Transparency's etc) though.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: City and South London Railway
Thank you all for your kind answers. I would need the object as an object, but also as a start to make a train. The 360' 3D cab I will have to make myself...

(I recall a quote being made about the Glasgow Subway pre modernisation in an old film, that it had it's own 'atmosphere' (as well as being thought of jokingly as a train-set railway for Glasgow. XD )

If any route developer is up for doing a Retro version of the 'Subway' pre modernisation, LMK .

I mean the electric era, as that's the one for which visual reference material is likely to exist.

Re: City and South London Railway
A good resemblance with the CSLR route I think. The station is something like Clapham North. Does anyone know the size of the Glasgow tunnels?

Well there was an existing Glasgow Subway Route for BVE2, although I'm not sure it's entirely true to the original.
Perhaps an enquiry to the Glasgow Transport Museum?

Re: City and South London Railway
Found! Glasgow has 4 ft track in 11 ft tunnels. Only 12 cm bigger than the original CSLR ones....

Glasgow's system is also cut-and-cover, strangely.. you would expect larger tunnels with the method...

Re: City and South London Railway
They seem to have 2 different systems: an old cut/cover one and the circular drilled one.

The cut and cover tunnels are the 'Glasgow Central Railway' which is mainline guage, and in part is now the 'Argyle' Line.
The bored tunnels of 11ft are the Glasgow (District) Subway, a different railway from the Glasgow Central

But I still wonder why they used tube-and-cover if the tunneling shield worked to build the C&SLR, Thames Tunnel and Tower Subway (and 2 years after the Glasgow Subway the W&CR)
At least they could have used larger tubes?

That's good news! When I know how to build a vehicle with moving bogies I will try to rebuild the wagon myself...
