Those backdrops are very well harmonised with the rest, I think this adds way more than many might think.

Thanks, guys! I have to give part of the credit to Quork, though, who is responsible for a significant percentage of the tree textures. :-) The bushes have been in FBT ever since, I just tweaked them over the years to make them what they are today. Smile

Guys, some more updates. The station objects have undergone a revision to get rid of overlays, apply textures and also to create some new objects that were needed to comply with reality. The clock is animated to match the current time in the route. See results below. I will update my blog during today or tomorrow. Smile

All the passengers are originally created as 3D objects, but for the sake of fps, I use only 2D textures. Unfortunately, openBVE still has some reserves when it comes to rendering complex 3D structures. Sad albino

@graymac: Finger up his nose. I even tried to address the face expression the poor lad had... Very Happy BTW just checked the passenger crew and we are missing a blonde female (we do have a couple of brunettes that I prefer, though - am I being biased for once? Very Happy Very Happy ) I might add a blonde just in case someone likes them... albino

Guys,

I know this is not the announcement some of you might be waiting for, but I can't do otherwise. I am literally lying on my bed and typing this on my phone, as I feel absolutely clapped out. I have been fighting with a rotavirus infection for the past four days, resulting in me losing 8 kilos (approx 17.5 pounds) of weight so far. I am shockingly weak and dehydrated and I cannot do anything more, not today or at least not now. I beg you for your patience. I have managed to record the sounds and create the packages today, but my FTP connection is being an absolute [insert your favorite offensive expression] and I cannot withstand any further without having a rest. I often wake up early in the morning these days, so I might upload then, but latest tomorrow by this time, it will be up.

Thank you for your understanding and please don't be mad.

Cheer up, after four days you're past most of the disease, it's usually said to last some five or six days with the dehydrating diarrhoe taking four days. Get well soon and don't mind our waiting, there are more important things than BVE, and health is one of those!

Thanks guys. Wink
@Quork: Indeed, it seems to be going away from me, but I am still getting tired very quickly. It will only get better I hope.

Well now. Promised you a new blonde girl, since we have not had one yet. So here you go. Smile

Also promised you the route to be up for grabs today, and I can confirm the upload is running now. It is going very slow, though, I will have to ask my provider about their services, this is absolutely ridiculous. albino

Looks like I'm the first! Right,so . . . .
Packages downloaded with no difficulty and installed with no errors. Overall object file download size was very modest so it looks as if a lot of effort has gone into making this efficient.
Program took 36 secs to load, which seemed a bit long. (Kilmagranny's about the same time length and that loads in 12secs on my machine).
I use Open 1.4.3.0 and best I managed was about 17fps, dipping to 9fps in places, though it never actually froze at any point.
That said, detail was excellent as always and I really like the extra mileage from Vranow to the new terminus at Dolni.
This is an excellent upgrade to a fine route. My only reservations are about fps - it looks like you really need to own a much better than average machine to get the full pleasure from this. My Intel Core 2 quad doesn't really cut it. Crying or Very sad

I feel it might not be the CPU, gray. I have got an i5 and I get about the same fps. It must be the GPU that is limiting us here. Having said that, I have also tried the route on a Phenom II and some Kaveri (both AMD, both weaker than Core2Quad and i5) and they were giving me similar fps. Must be the GPU, since all the GPU's I was using were comparable.
Glad to hear that it downloads without any problems.
2 questions:

  1. Was the fps rate lowest in the curve before reaching the terminus?
  2. Did you get caught speeding at the bridge? Very Happy

Didn't notice any dramatic fps drop near the end, it was a bit low, about 9fps I think (take that in the previously mentioned context, remembering that my machine ran this route between 9-17fps on average).
I was using the AI as the train is unfamiliar. There was an overspeed warning on screen, so the AI was caught out.
I was running rather late, due to three unscheduled EB stops (I'm partly deaf so can't hear the "vigilance" sound very well - not your fault, I've "tweaked" sound files on most of my usual trains to allow for it though it does make for an inauthentic noise albino )

LOL three unscheduled stops in the middle of the forest? A hint - on the right hand side a blue light turns on when you need to cancel vigilance. What did the passengers say about that? albino albino
