Királyliget route updated - includes several AI trains
I have the pleasure of announcing a new version of the Királyliget route, version 2.3. The main new feature of this edition is AI trains - there are several AI trains built into the route.
They use the new TFOXML format, so they have sounds, they come, arrive, open and close doors and then depart. I've also added a direction changing AI locomotive, which changes tracks to join its train.
Besides the AI trains, I've also updated the signalling system, station platforms and catenary poles.
You can download the route from here: https://bve.hu/kiralyliget. My blog provides alternative download links (if needed). They are at the bottom of the page.
Note: there are two packages to download: one is the route itself and the other is the AI trains. You can install both using OpenBVE's package manager.
Enjoy!

Re: Királyliget route updated - includes several AI trains
I have downloaded all the fileswet into their respective folders in the Railway Folder except the train files . I had to make a Train folder and cut & paste them into the Train folder.
In the Railway Folder are the folders …. Object, Route, Sound & train. plus files Package.ping and Package.txt.
In the Object folder is a folder 'Kiralyliget' with 22 folders inside.
In the Route Folder in a folder 'Kiralyliget' with one route folder 'Kiralyliget'
in the Sound Folder is a folder 'Kiralyliget' with four sounds files and a text file.
In the Train Folder are five folders …...
Kiralyliget H-Start 415 Stadler Flirt
Kiralyliget Taurus
Kiralyliget V43 Halbi Reversed
Kiralyliget V63 Bhv
Kiralyliget V63 Halbi
plus two files = Package.ping and Package.txt.
When opening Openbve 1.7.0.3 I selected the route folder and the train folder, making. However it does not find the train automatically and had to select the trai from the train folder.
The game loads up 100% and the play screen opens up but after about 2-3 seconds the game crashes. I have tried a number of times. The first few times the locomotive cab showed correctly then crashed but the last time I tried was after a cold boot-Up and most of the cab objects were missing then the game crashed.
I would appreciate any advice, thanks.

Re: Királyliget route updated - includes several AI trains
I have seen this problem before, other users have notified me as well. It is because of an error somewhere. In the crash log OpenBVE throws a nullreference error.
Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce the error, the route and AI trains work correctly on my computer with any OpenBVE versions.
I'm about to write a bug report, though, collecting crash logs from users at the moment.

Re: Királyliget route updated - includes several AI trains
Just want to add that I now have the route running fully. I have run the game using the Kiralyliget H-Start 415 Stadler Flirt
and the Kiralyliget V43 Halbi Reversed trains. The route is quite short with a maximum of 120km speed and just cruise up to station.
On opening the train V43 Halbi is asked for but the only train file of that loco is V43 Halbi reversed. That that appears to work OK.
Nice route and perhaps more routes and trains will become available in due course.

Re: Királyliget route updated - includes several AI trains
As far as the driveable train is concerned, I didn't include it in the train package, only the trains that are used as AI trains. Maybe I'll update the train package to include the driveable train too.
Re: Királyliget route updated - includes several AI trains
Bill, I have updated the route and also the trains package. Can you check if this versions works OK for you?

If it doesn't work and the program crashes could you post the crash log file and also the contents of log.txt from OpenBVE's Settings folder to pastebin.com and link it here? Thanks!

Re: Királyliget route updated - includes several AI trains
Hi Phonteus, I deleted the earlier download, keeping them in the waste bin, just in case and made a fresh download. Once again the Train files didn't make a Train Folder but I just cut & pasted them into the train folder.
I'm pleased to say that everything downloaded OK and all trains ran fully, no problems. Thanks for including the correct train asked for when the route first opens.
Cheeres.
Bill Reid.

Re: Királyliget route updated - includes several AI trains
Bill, please use OpenBVE's own package manager for route and train installation, do not manually open the zip files.
If you install the two packages that way, you should see several other trains arriving, opening and closing their doors and departing as you drive. Also, you should see a Siemens Taurus locomotive changing tracks and directions and joining its train. That is the real fun of this release.

Re: Királyliget route updated - includes several AI trains
I didn't open any zip file. The train files went into the root of the Railway file and I simply cut & Pasted them into the Train file.
However, I have tried running the routes with the train files in either place but still don't get any moving AI trains. Other than that all trains used in the Route files are running alright. I note that the .ping and Package.xml files get downloaded from both downloads so are in two folders! Is the lack of seeing any running AI trains got to do with these two file? At the moment I have them in the root of the Railway folder and Train folder. I have had no crashes this time.

Re: Királyliget route updated - includes several AI trains
OpenBVE has a built in package manager. It installs route and train packages automatically. Go to the package manager tab in OpenBVE and install my two packages there. If you do that you will see the moving trains. They are the flagship features of this release.
Re: Királyliget route updated - includes several AI trains
Package Management is a new one on me and have not used this method before. I take it that I need to save your route as two zip files from your server, which I have done and saved to a separate folder on my hard drive. I opened Openbve and clicked on 'create Package' which I did for the zip file 'Kiralyligit 2.3.5_Openbve and saved that.
However it has disappeared on my hard drive and can't find it. I next tried to create a package for Kiralyliget 2.3.5_Trains_Openbve but it wont go beyond showing the first package which I take needs clearing. This is where I am stuck. It looks as if I need to uncreate the first package before I can get to making a package of the train zip file. I am puzzled as to why you can't just unzip the folders and files into their respecive folders and get it to work fully! Apologies for having difficulty with this downloading system.

Re: Királyliget route updated - includes several AI trains
You want to install a package, not create one.
If you're not familiar with installing packages, you can unzip my two zip files using, for example, 7-zip. If you go this way, do this:
- Put every folder you find in the route package into your Railway folder.
- Put every folder you find in the train package into your Train folder.
After this you should see several trains running along the line as you drive.

Re: Királyliget route updated - includes several AI trains
You CAN unzip the downloads to install manually, if you prefer to do so that way. A "package" is really only a zipfile with an extra bit added to help the programme's package manager button do the job automatically.
I've just downloaded "Kiralyliget" with Firefox browser (any browser will do) and dragged the folders to the desktop where I can see them.
Now, I've opened the program and pressed "package management" button. This reveals pm window and I pressed "instal package" button, lower left. Then used "select package" button, navigated to the route file on the desktop, picked "Kiralyiget" and finished by pressing "next" - it installed to my route folder without fail. Trains did the same. You may need to tell the program where you want to put routes/trains if you haven't used package manager before, otherwise it will install in a default folder in windows, which location I don't remember.
That's it, really!
(NB: I haven't run the route yet as I'm not using the 1.6 version given as the minimum, yet. But it does load in 1.5, with a few errors indicated and the first impression is excellent!)

Re: Királyliget route updated - includes several AI trains
Thanks both for the new information. I will have another go before long and hope to get everything running correctly. In fact, everything was running correctly except that I couldn't see any AI train movements.
Re: Királyliget route updated - includes several AI trains
Graymac: you can download the zip version of OpenBVE and put it in a new folder on your computer (this way you can have as many installations of OpenBVE as you want. I have about thirty folders with different versions of the program).
This will give you a chance to try out my route with AI trains AND you can keep your current OpenBVE version, too.

Re: Királyliget route updated - includes several AI trains
I have 7Zip on my computer and used it often but I mainly use WinZip, which I did in this case. Other things going on I will add more in due course.
Re: Királyliget route updated - includes several AI trains
My thanks again to you both. I followed the instructions by Graymac and selected the two Zip files already downloaded onto my computer and on running the game found all the AI trains running properly. The AI trains are excellent and is a fantastic jump forward for OpenBve and hope other route programmers will be updating their routes or new routes to add this great improvement.
Only one issue! I can't see any Kiralyliget folders in my Railway Folder and in either the Object, Route, Sound and TRain folders. I note the directive C:/Users/UseAppData/Roaming/openBVE/LegacyContent/Railway/Route/Kiralyliget is the directive shown hen I open OpenBVE v.1.6.00. Is this normal or how do I change that directive when using Package Management?

Re: Királyliget route updated - includes several AI trains
My thanks to Graymac for the information as to where to direct download using Package Management. I haven't made the changes as yet will be on to that very soo now.
Re: Királyliget route updated - includes several AI trains
I now have Kiralyliget re-directed to the correct folders from using working from downloading from Package Management with thanks to Phontious and Graymac. It is nice to have learned about and how to use this method of downloading.
