NWM update
I think that I should just post a quick update about NWM progress, as things are about to happen.
The present 'official' NWM suite is a work in progress update from last year and is available from https://sites.google.com/a/bve4trains.com/network-west-midlands-2017-work-in-progress/home
I am in the last stages of testing before another WIP, which will be released over May bank Holiday. This latest WIP has two of the three planned eras, (2001-2005 and 2006-2010) with 47 driveable diagrams. Although it is a WIP, the only area that is lacking proper development is the new Maybank TMD. I hope to complete that and the third era, (2011-2015), by next May. No night diagrams are ready for release at present, but there is a great deal of scenery improvements.

Re: NWM update
I’ve noticed that when you stop at stations the train always overshoots the platform due to the stop marker being set after the platform. Do you intend to fix that in a future update?

Re: NWM update
As mentioned in my previous post, the latest Network West Midlands WIP will be available from May 1st from https://sites.google.com/a/bve4trains.com
If you already have a copy of any previous versions of NWM it is essential that you rename the existing NWM folders if you wish to keep them. DO NOT just overwrite the existing copies. You will just end up with a load of driveable route files that will give errors.
To achieve that go to:
..\OpenBve\Railway\Route\NWM_Open rename the folder NWM_Open.OLD
Unzip or extract the Route.zip file into ..\OpenBve\Railway\Route\ This will install the new version of the driveable routes
..\OpenBve\Railway\Object\NWM_Open rename the folder NWM_Open.OLD
The NWM Object folder is very large so it is in three zip files.
Unzip or extract the Object_1.zip file into ..\OpenBve\Railway\Object\ This will install a part of the new version of the scenery objects
Unzip or extract the Object_2.zip file into ..\OpenBve\Railway\Object\ This will install a second part of the new version of the scenery objects
Unzip or extract the Object_3.zip file into ..\OpenBve\Railway\Object\ This will complete the install the new version of the scenery objects
\..\OpenBve\Railway\Sound\NWM_Open rename the folder NWM|Open.OLD
Unzip or extract the Sound.zip file into ..\OpenBve\Railway\Sound\ This will install the new version of the NWM run sounds.
This release is still a work in progress. The new area that has been added, which includes Maybank TMD, still needs scenery on the left of the depot. New buildings are needed, including a wash plant and fuel area, although the trackwork and OLE is complete.
More diagrams have to be added to the 2006-2010 era. A lot of these will be night time diagrams. Also a third era - 2011-2015, has to be re-written, although a huge amount towards it has been prepared. These three eras will have about 100 different driveable diagrams, each of them having a certain amount of randomisation.
There is still a huge amount of additional routes that could be added. Extentions from several locations are in preparation, but only when the 2011-2015 era has been released next year.
One final note....some of the freight diagrams in this new release will be randomly taken into passing loops. They will stay there for some minutes, and you will just have to wait for the signal to clear. The in cab timetable will show the timetable, and to speed up the waiting time you could press Ctl+J which will give time x5. Pressing Ctl+J again will return time to normal.
Have fun.

Re: NWM update
A couple of days later than I planned the WIP 2018 of Network West Midlands is now released.
https://sites.google.com/a/bve4trains.com/network-west-midlands-2018-work-in-progress/
Note that this is a new site and the 2017 version has been withdrawn.
I've also changed what you should do with the files so you only need to download them to a location where another Railway folder is not located.
Instructions are on the web site.
Anyone that's been in Open Bve for a while should be able to put them where they like!
If you get errors you have got it wrong...

I did!
I'm so used to package management now that I've turned into a complete eejit. (I was only a half-wit before LOL)
I'll work it out from the error file later, don't worry.
Re: NWM update
I updated without too much trouble except for a few missing files (12 for the diagram I loaded). Great work!

Re: NWM update
These graphics are top-notch. The scenarios are really fun to drive too. I was wondering if there was a scenario that I could use a class 350 on. Also, the ambience of some diesel trains may be slightly too loud, could do with a bit of quietening at some stations
Great job and it’s good for the NWM to have a good update

Re: NWM update
I keep getting 'default train cannot be found'.
I have railway/object/NWM_Open/Trains/trains2
and railway/object/NWM_Open/Trains2
Something is obviously in the wrong place but I can't figure it out.
Any help appreciated.

Re: NWM update
You can use any train. It doesn’t have to be the default train since some of them don’t exist.ecreek wrote:I keep getting 'default train cannot be found'.

Re: NWM update
I am having the same trouble. Item 5 says that the contents of the TTrains should then copied and pasted into the trains folder. Inside TTrains is T2. Should T2 be expanded and pasted into the Trains folder or just moved as a folder into trains? looks a mess but maybe somebody can elaborate.
Regards Stu
Edit. All is well now. Slightly different than last year for the trains section. I found I had no passing trains and sorted it out.

Oh well I got it wrong!
Basically you put the contents of trains2 into the trains folder.
The second trains folder only exists because my site has a limit of 50mb.

Re: NWM update
Do you guys plan to do something similar for the southern Region? It’s kind of a bit neglected with quite a few routes and trains.

There are not any night routes in this latest work in progress release of NWM.
But they are planned for the next one.
Sorry.

Sorry.
Is there a Sectional Appendix in development? A complex set of diagrams probably should ideally have one.

Re: NWM update
This version of NWM is a work in progress release.
There are still a lot of things to be added.
It's free to download.
It's not too difficult to navigate.
