Is openBVE v1.5.3.0 infected with "Win32/Wannacrypt.A!rsm"
Hello,
I'm a 60 year old train fan, I was a brakeman and have ridden many a caboose. I downloaded openBVE v1.5.3.0 and Microsoft Security Essentials/Defender popped up with a message that the download is infected with "Win32/Wannacrypt.A!rsm". Can someone please verify for me that it's simply a false positive.
Thank you!

Its a false positive.
Will report to MS, but might take a few days to clear.

Have you installed v1.5.3.0 yet? If so, was everything OK? I am getting the same detection here.Olob wrote:Hello,

Unfortunately Defender still sees it as infected. Actually it's upped the protection, I can't even run the file - Essentials/Defender has blocked access to the file.

I just downloaded and successfully accessed openbve_dev_v1.4.3.1 without any issues. I can execute OpenBve.exe without any issues.

Using the latest version of the sim myself - neither Windows Defender or BitDefender see any problems with that. I am using Windows 10 Pro, activated, with Windows Update active as well.

I've had success installing openBVE, I had to use the compressed file (.zip), not the install. Every time I try to download openBVE-1.5.3.0-setup.exe, Microsoft Essential/Defender identifies the installer as being infected.
So, I was able to install the latest version as long as I used the .zip file, but the .exe continues to generate an error.
