Discovering cause of errors

Earlier OBVE versions (before 1.4.x) indicated errors when loading the route/train with an option to view the list of problems.
Later versions show loading errors in the form of "x errors" in top left of screen.
But how can the list be viewed in order to correct it?

This came up as I'm testing some new work, there's 14 unknown errors I need to find. These don't occur when I use the older versions, only with v1.4.3

Pretty sure I'm using a 1.4.. version though not at home at present so will have to check.
Depending on which OS you are using there should be an error log file.

For Vista, Windows 7, see here,

C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\OpenBVE\Settings\log.txt
change USER with your Windows login username

Run OpenBVE in window mode, with OpenBVE still running check the log file as above, this should let you know where the faults are.

Thanks, I found the log file in the C:\Trainsimstuff\openbve 1.4.3.0\UserData\Settings folder

Glad you got it sorted, looks like youve possibly got some entries in the sound.cfg without a path to associated wav files ?

Yes, it turned out there was no filename associated with the function, most of the defective lines are not in use anyway, so removing them cured the problem.
These error did not show up upon loading the train in the earlier versions of the OBVE program.
It's all for preparing an old Irish Rail EMD 121 type loco (for release with a BWR routes upgrade). These locos had a single end cab configuration, rather like the UK Class 20's.

Yeah, would fit to Michelle noting she was going for a stricter, thus safer interpretation routine for the files.
