Shall we "update" the portal appearance?

Hey guys,
just thought I would ask you a question - a member of the moderating team has suggested the portal could use a more modern look. When I was building this portal some time ago, I was working with what I had, which was basically poor html knowledge and zero css knowledge. 
However, the current design looks very simple and functional to me. What do you think?

I wonder if that Thomas Bertram Lance, a successful American businessman, was any relation to BVE's own famous Denis Lance, routebuilder and provider of the best tutorial on building for BVE.

Well, coincedences happen. Erm... Are you trying to say the internet isn't for p0rn as is usually claimed but for railways? =D
