Just as it says on the tin! You are welcome to guess which station this is based on.

What a pity my internet is broken and I have to use my mobile as a modem, would be fun for sure to search for your station... Looking great and I'm curious what the answer will be! Not Dublin for sure, considering your statement about being called a Dubliner few days ago Laughing

I don't recall a statement concerning Dubliners?? However, it IS a different world on the west side of the Shannon, which is where I hang out. And you're right, it's a long way from Dublin to the station in the picture.

Well you asked Dex if being called a resident of Prague would be similar an insult to him like calling you a Dubliner, IIRC, didn't you?

However, it's very well possible it wasn't recently at all and I only read it recently - as I mentioned in the music thread, I roughly cross-read it all, so it might as well have been some old post ;-)

No, John. Waterville is loosely based on Cork.
This is rather more to the east, by some way.

I can tell you for sure it ain't Portlaoise, Portarlington or any of the others towards Dublin on that route. Inital thoughts were Sligo, but that doesn't fit.

It's not Newport is it? Been a fair few years since I was there, but an altered plan could fit

Yes, its (mostly) Newport based. The old footbridge, of course, not the shiny new metal sculpture. The station buldings are a bit of a cheat as the textures were from a redbrick Victorian bld. from Staffordshire.

The trackwork is similar too. I used satellite images for distance measurements, but it seems further than the original on the flat. comparing a Video125 ride to the game. Anyway, its not the intention to create an accurate copy of the Abergavenny line, for one thing I intend to stay out of England, so expect a trip up the valleys to emerge. Arriva stock will do nicely.

Why Welsh?? I got fed up waiting for the bloody idle taffs** to do the job!!! Very Happy

** Max Boyce is alright. So's Charlotte Church, Catatonia, Bryn Terfel, my cousin in Caerfyrddin . . . . . .

Does this mean that the trains will have to be driven Caerphilly?
