Re: Brno BVE Website
The biggest culprit turns out to be the use of the Rotate function in your animated files, which is being evaluated once a frame, even though it's a static result.
My most recent nightlies (2016-05-11 onwards) contain a patch which on my machine boosts the FPS where these are used by 50%
This means that it jumps from 45-48 FPS at track position ~9100 (With the killer bushes) to 65-70 FPS.
Other locations on the route see some decent jumps, but not quite as spectacular.
(Note: Testing on the version of the route before you started optimising)
The effect of this patch will vary considerably based upon the number of animated objects in use, and whether any static rotation values have been used, but I'm quite pleased with that little find.
Cheers

I have just uploaded a new version of class 163 to go with the route. It has got a brand new undercarriage (or whatever it is called these days) and revolving bogies as well. Find it HERE

Anyway, I have been playing around for a bit now, still need to figure some stuff out (it has been a very long pause as you might have noticed), but some things are getting along nicely.
I have decided to to test the new render and it's coping quite well up until now. We shall see where its limits are... the poles are proving to be quite challenging (they are 3D and not fully finished yet).

Hi,
thanks for the joy you have expressed. I am glad to see this kind of reaction - it can be a good motivation.
I have to admit, though, your nickname does not seem to be familiar. HJave you changed it / have you got a new one?
