Brno BVE Website
Alright, time to come up with something from my side, so it does not seem I have no time for development at all (well, I have to little time, but every now and then I can make something). Below you can find pictures of a repaired highway bridge - all the traverses are 3D and most of the textures have been replaced. And yes, it is my newest train, the 163 going under it. Comments, please.

Re: Brno BVE Website
The wall of the bridge is amazingly detailed. Is it 300 DPI or thereabouts?

Looking good. How wide is the motorway above? It looks a bit narrow to me.

Not many countries NEED wide motorways like the M25, well known as the biggest car-park in Europe
Nice concrete textures Derryck.
Re: Brno BVE Website
The road above is 8 meters wide, it is not exactly meant to be a motorway, there would have to be 2 of the bridges next to each other (one per direction, it is usual here).
With this width it would either be one motorway direction, or a regular road with 2 traffic lanes in one and 1 traffic line in the other direction.

The texture is 128x256 px. It is one texture dispersed over three separate faces. Took a little bit of maths, but nothing really difficult. Much worse things do exist.

So, one more thing was modified today; the elevator needed some adjustments. Along with new door, also the layout and panel have been modified. See below.
Re: Brno BVE Website
Looking really good Derryck! It's a shame the trains external textures don't look quite as realistic as the line now!
Also your 'sleepers' look a little 'flat' to me. Is there nothing you can do to make them look a little more 3D?
I feel sleeper and track textures are the main drawback for me when it comes to routes. And (in Britain at least) it seems only Anthony Bowden and the NWM team seem to be the only developers to make them look more realistic....

Re: Brno BVE Website
Actually I have the 3D rail project sored somewhere... every single sleeper is 3D on that rail, but it is creating havoc on graphic cards, so that's why I never used it. Another way is to make u-shaped middle of the rail objects, that's what Anthony is using if I'm not mistaking.
As for the train - this is a photo of it...
Compare yourself, although there is a bit of space for improvement, I agree. Generally 362s from my stock have better textures, because they run here in Brno and I was able to take my own pics of them. The 163 has textures derived from 362.

Derryck, that track looks absolutely stunning as does the station and the loco!! I'm envious! If you need somewhere for your track to be tested I'm sure I could see what it looks like on West Horton Trams...

I think the sleepers are OK. Let's not forget that (open)BVE was meant to drive a train, rather than to look very closely on stills.

Re: Brno BVE Website
A brand new piece of work - traction main for a dead-end track. Quite fun creating this, as it goes narrower to the top... Textures created from my own photos; details taken from a photo provided by Gyzma. Everything (including the pulleys and their inner cut-outs) is 3D. Comments, please.

Thanks, Tom - the route would require a well equipped PC for testing, how's your hardware then?
Re: Brno BVE Website
I'm getting the most superior of computers being built by father and me (yeah he's well jealous of it . So you should be fine if you need a supercomputer tester to run it for you!

No worries, we'll get to tests later on. Any comments on the screenies? Anything to be improved / adjusted?
Re: Brno BVE Website
If I may say, I would make the roofs of these houses stick over the walls by, say, 20 cm. This gives a more natural effect, especially with housing so near to the track.

Re: Brno BVE Website
It is actually made according to real thing in Prague.:-) The roof pverreaches the wall altogether with the gable. Note the lights hanging down from the gable; it is a proof of the overreaching.

Thanks, they were actually photographed when I was returning from a trip with my GF... noticed the street next to ours contains this variety and the next day they were already standing in my route.
Re: Brno BVE Website
Well, I had modelled a bit of terrain and went trainspotting to see how it turns out (its the dike on the left side of the picture, I was checking if the terrain is broken enough. I might put another link to -png file as this JPG seems to loose quality more than I'd want. And as always, eager to hear any comments.
Re: Brno BVE Website
Hmm, looks rather good. I wonder how it looks from the cabin.
