Inbuilt rain drops not working
Hi,
I'm having issues with the new command, because It doesn't works for me. I've downloaded the latest version and still gives me an error in the route .csv file when I put .rain 100. How can I fix that? Thanks in advance.

Re: Inbuilt rain drops not working
Can you clarify exactly what error you're seeing please?
Full text of the error and / or a complete log is the most useful.
This appears to work for me.

Hello,
This is the error that appears in the Route Viewer:
This is the CSV file of the route:
And also I want to clarify that I'm using the latest version available:
Do I have anything wrong?

Re: Inbuilt rain drops not working
That looks right.
Try the main game first & see if that works, I'll take a look at route viewer later.
(Probably needs the rain intensity showing there now I think about it....)

Re: Inbuilt rain drops not working
The main game also loads it as an error so I don't know what's happening
Re: Inbuilt rain drops not working
Nope, you're entirely right, may apologies
(Nobody ever breaks the thing or say anthing before I put out a release )
Try the test build from today & see if that works any better:

This also makes the following improvements:

This also makes the following improvements:
- AI now handles the wipers if fitted.
- Route viewer and the main game have rain intensity added to the overlays.
Re: Inbuilt rain drops not working
I have installed the files successfully, the main game and the Route Viewer doesn't load any error but the raindrops are missing... Does that I mean I have to create a 3D model for them myself? Thanks for the help
Re: Inbuilt rain drops not working
How can I add it? I tried to put structure.rain and texture.rain and it didn't worked. Excuse my ignoranceleezer3 wrote:Correct, this doesn't (at the minute at least) add a 3D model.
Re: Inbuilt rain drops not working
Neither of those, you'd have to add it as a wall / dike where you want it.
That's actually a rather good idea mind.
I'm thinking extend the current Rain command as the following:
.Rain(Intensity, RainType)

Extended
https://vps.bvecornwall.co.uk/OpenBVE/Builds/OpenBVE-2021-01-10.zip
New addition to the Structure namespace, Structure.Weather
Works in exactly the same way as a wall, dike etc.
The .Rain command has been extended to take a second (optional) parameter, structureindex.
This should be set to the appropriate set from Structure.Weather
I'm also thinking about a .Snow command to work in an identical manner, but loading a set of snow drops on the windscreen as opposed to rain drops.
Need to see if I can work up something that doesn't look awful.....

Re: Inbuilt rain drops not working
I got the raindrops correctly displaying on the Route Viewer but in the main game when I select the route file, this message appears on the info. box
Looking forward for the Snow command

Re: Inbuilt rain drops not working
Fixed
I've also added .Snow to the available routefile commands.
This works identically to the .Rain command.
There's also one other rather neat little feature- Combined rain and snow (That's definitely something that could never be done before)!

This works as following:
- We take the maximum of the rain and snow intensities. This is the base probability of a drop hitting the windscreen at any given time.
- The snow intensity is then taken as the probability that it will be a snowflake, as opposed to a raindrop.
