Tinted windows Empty Tinted windows

Post by Tstageman Sun Mar 04, 2012 6:13 pm

Just another quick question for the more experienced creators out there, how can I add tint to windows, such as when I use transparency in a .b3d file, I have seen theres a way to get tinted windows but I can't remember how.

Thanks

Example:
color 0,0,0
That gives you a solid black

color 0,0,0,100
Try that, you will see a transparent effect. Vary the last value between 0 and 255. You can put the tinted face behind the face with the window openings in it.

Ah, graymac's beaten me to it lol

You have the usual Setcolor, R,G,B

But you can add Opacity which is to make a mesh transparent. In this case just add it in after blue so it'll look like this

Setcolor, R,G,B,O

Note that opacity is between 0 and 255.

Hope this will help

I have learnt everything I know about BVE from just asking so many questions. You'll see how many threads I've started just for the sake of asking a question!

Ooh, reflections, in what sense, shiny paintwork? That'd come in handy on some of the trams for West Horton! Wink

Thats OK Tom. It's also why the "College of Knowledge" was initiated by Derryck. A lot of the same questions concerning the beginnings of route and object building are asked repeatedly. Often when there's already the same question posted very recently.
It's possible to find out nearly everything you need from the material in that knowledge section. With that information plus a good bit of effort you WILL succeed in making you own BVE add-ons.
So, everybody, DO look there first to see if you can find the answers.
Of course, if you're stuck there will be help at ahnd by asking.
