OpenBVE 64bit + reshade
Has anyone had any success in using the 64 bit version of openBVE with reshade? I can get the 32bit version working fine but not the 64bit.
Not a major problem really, but 64bit gives many more fps on my system, so it would be nice to use it with it.
Reshade+openBVE really does improve the graphics imo. I still think openBVE is miles ahead re physics/sounds compared to the newer train sims, have been playing the excellent NWM a lot recently. Does anyone know if NWM is still being developed by the way?

Re: OpenBVE 64bit + reshade
Have you tried using daily builds ? Because for me some version of openbve 64bit daily builds worked for reshade but the stable release usually only 32 bit will work.

Thanks for your reply. I've tried the lastest nightly build but still the same result unfortunately - just 32 bit works. Do you know which build worked for you regarding the 64bit and reshade?

Re: OpenBVE 64bit + reshade
You'll need to install it manually.
Only the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Reshade can be active at any one time, and it appears to be auto-decting OpenBVE as 32-bit.
First, open the OpenBVE folder, and delete any copies of opengl32.dll that are present.
Next, open the Reshade installer with your favourite archive manager.
Extract Reshade64.dll to the OpenBVE root folder (next to OpenBve.exe)
Rename this to opengl32.dll
Not bothered to try and do anything with shaders, but this appears to work.

Re: OpenBVE 64bit + reshade
Hello everyone, in case some of you are still haven't got this works with newest reshade program try my step below.
1. make sure no opengl32.dll is present in openbve program folder or better do it in fresh install of openbve.
2. run reshade and target to openBve.exe because this is the 64bit.
3. follow the reshade instructions, choose opengl logo.
4. select some shader packages you want, quint is recommended in my opinion.
5. finish the reshade install.
6. head to the openbve folder and search for the opengl32.dll that have around 3MB/~3000KB
7. delete it.
8. extract your reshade installer, either with 7zip or winrar.
9. in the extracted reshade folder find reshade64.dll.
10. copy and paste it in the openbve folder next to openBve.exe
11. rename that reshade64.dll to opengl32.dll
12. done, try test it.
in a nutshell you do as Leezer3 said but in reverse.
Note: if you wish to install another shader through reshade installer and the reshade is somewhat stop working in openbve, try run from the step 8 again. it seems the reshade revert the opengl32 to the original 32bit not the renamed 64bit dll.
