OpenBVE on Ubuntu 20.04.1?
I have searched the web, but can not find anything about the installation of openBVE on Ubuntu 20.04.
I was just wondering if it is possible to install BVE on Ubuntu 20.04.1?

The Debian package from here should work, although I haven't checked the dependancies on 20.04 specifically:
https://openbve-project.net/download/
Let me know if this is broken.

First, to raises the intentionally generate the dependency error, run this command.
After then, run this command:
Occurs dependency error and stopped again.
After then, run this command:
rebuild dependency by this command.
finally, retry this.
install is success. and run:
Interestingly, https://github.com/leezer3/OpenBVE/issues/498 did not occur with OpenBVE 1.7.1.8 on Virtualbox.
- Code:
sudo dpkg -i OpenBVE-1.7.1.8.deb
After then, run this command:
- Code:
sudo apt -y install debhelper mono-runtime mono-runtime libmono-system-drawing4.0-cil libmono-system-windows-forms4.0-cil libmono-system4.0-cil libmono-system-xml-linq4.0-cil libmono-i18n4.0-all libmono-microsoft-csharp4.0-cil libopenal1

Re: OpenBVE on Ubuntu 20.04.1?
Thanks Midnight Express Ginga81
I will see a little later this week if I can start open BVE again.
Had openBVE on my computer during Ubuntu 18.04.4. And it works fine. so now after the upgrade I would like to start openBVE again.
Ubuntu 20.04.1 is very unstable unfortunately. So I will not be surprised if it fails.
Thanks for the instructive guide, Midnight Express Ginga81

Re: OpenBVE on Ubuntu 20.04.1?
Unfortunately, Ubuntu 20.04.1 is very unstable.
Since I depend on my computer daily, I do not dare to install new programs.
It has taken many hours to get only the most necessary programs to work (Firefox, Open Office, Open CAD, Zoom)
The installation error is connected to a third part
aplikationer. NVidia's driver for my graphics card e.g.
causes the computer to crash.
This means that we do not know if it is your, Midnight Express Ginga81, suggested installation guide that goes wrong or Ubuntu 20.04.1
Will see if I can install Ubuntu 20.04.1 on another hard disk. It would save many hours of work if something goes wrong.
But I have not given up. Would like to continue running trains.

Re: OpenBVE on Ubuntu 20.04.1?
Thanks for reply.
I tested at Virtualbox, and run normally.
So I answered.
Recently, another Ubuntu user say that new NVIDIA board's propraietary driver cannot install.
Unfortunately, he switch to Windows.
I think perhaps that NVIDIA's proprietary driver is not stable recently.
Few years ago, NVIDIA was very stable...
My NVIDIA graphic board is real burned and broken, so I create a new PC and switched to AMD and RADEON RX 590.
Difficult to install RADEON's propraietary driver, but after installed, my Ubuntu18.04 is very stable.
I will use 18.04 3 years for the future.
