Irish General Motors 071
I've been working to improve the Irish locos (see also this thread: https://bveworldwide.forumotion.com/t1492-another-201-variant ) and have mostly completed a model of 071.
I'm waiting to get pics of the grey livery before releasing them, hopefully this summer.

Re: Irish General Motors 071
Caught up with a grey GM in Westport. Already had the cab pic from 083, the engine covers were on 084.
Re: Irish General Motors 071
And with 073 that's the new trio of CTS 07x General Motors locomotives which will be released before long. A website update is being planned.
Re: Irish General Motors 071
Looking very well, Graham. I'm looking forward to giving them a spin.

Re: Irish General Motors 071
Three liveries now done for the CTS new-build 071s Beta available, see here:
https://bveworldwide.forumotion.com/t1528-refurbished-irish-gm-071s
Note that 079 has been scrapped so you will have to save the old one (still on the website) before the new models are officially introduced (won't be long!).
If I get any decent pics later I may relaunch 079, but the original textures really weren't up to scratch, which is why I'm withdrawing it.
079, may it rust in peace!!

Nice textures! But I think a stray '3' has crept into the 'bogie 1' section of the extensions. Until I removed that the front bogie derailed before I left the yard.

Well spotted, now fixed and replaced.
Here's the real thing, two weeks ago at Westport, Co Mayo
(taken with long lens at the station, not from on the track)

Re: Irish General Motors 071
Good news, 079 has had a reprieve from the scrapyard. Spent a day photoshopping a new set of textures from original pics of 083 and some reference images from the web.
Re: Irish General Motors 071
Thanks Dexter, I wish a few more people would get involved. We're a bit thin on the ground.
Does anyone know what's happened with BVETMD site? I's just vanished.

Re: Irish General Motors 071
True. I can see a rising number of members on the forum, but the numebr of developers is stagnating or declining slowly...
Re: Irish General Motors 071
It's problematic. And when there's obsolete work still available (G-d knows where they find it, but it's out there) though long out of date and buggy as a month old corpse with newer program versions and hardware . . . . . .
That new fellow, Terrence, was having awful problems with old material that's never been upgraded and is quite unfit for purpose now, unless it is for someone who knows how to fix all the errors and glitches. We need material compatible with new developments to stay relevant and fresh. - anyway, this topic might need its own thread.

Re: Irish General Motors 071
Nice work on the Loco Graymac, I really love the attention to detail on almost every aspect of the train
I’m working on a few projects though they’re mainly modifying pieces of work from developers who seemed to have disappeared a long time ago like Ben Leahy who made the class 350.
I’ve tried going through with some southern Region route coding but since I don’t live in London or Kent I haven’t really had the chance to go down and gather resources.
I’ve decided to do some backup work involving MSTS trains if things go south with my abysmal coding and getting scales all wrong but I try to get my work done whenever I can so I can finish the London Overhaul
Again good work on everything
Sachin

Re: Irish General Motors 071
Thanks, Sachin
Good routes are scarcer than good trains, though it does take a lot longer to make one. It IS esier if you live near to the work you are attempting to make, though it's not impossible. I have a confession to make here. My Welsh route was made without visiting Wales. Admitted, I know the place from before. But the majority of textures for the buildings and scenery were taken off screen grabs from Google streetview and photoshopped to f*** until I got what I wanted. Give it some thought.

Re: Irish General Motors 071
Thanks, Ben, I'm like the IRA - haven't gone away!!
There's four locos of this class now rebuilt and to be released on the website soon.
I'm looking at the 201s right now, a lot done already, I'm going to see if I can produce five or six 201 variants, possibly with an "Enterprise" set.

Always like the work you release, looks the part and always runs at a decent FPS.
Hope you’re well.

Re: Irish General Motors 071
I thought those '71s were a bit too clean, so I added an extra one that looks like its done some work.
072 as I found her last year at Portarlington on ballast duties.
