Finding train in end station Empty Finding train in end station

Post by joegrojam@uwclub.net Sun Jul 16, 2017 12:02 pm

Tried installing OpenBVE v 1.5.1.4 and installing celtictrainsim's routes and at the end of every route I have played, I get a train the saame as I am driving in the plaform of the last station on the route, complete with (in some cases) a signal a danger just before the platform (and in some cases, a distant signal being off beforehand!) This happens on the Ballyfeckin and Waterville Railway, and when I load the route it says I have 1 warning, but I don't know ow to find it. Anyone know how to fix it?

The warning is probably nothing to do with the issue.

I can't say I've come across this one before, but I'll try Ballyfeckin tonight.

Only thing off the top of my head is that 1.5.1.4 contains a couple of tweaks to the AI driver that might have affected this.
Try 1.5.1.3 and see if that helps:

A bit more looking: Tried 1.5.1.3 and the same thing happens. But found that (using the first diagram on the Ballifeckin and Waterville Railway, Ballyfeckin-Ballinamo1A.csv, with the 2700), I used F3 to look ahead to the platform at Ballinamo. It stays empty until I get near the penultimate station, Drumlish, then approacing Drumlish, using F3 to look ahead at Ballinamo, a train identical to the one I am driving appears and drives forward into the platform at Ballinamo, stops for a bit, and if I wait for a bit, the signal ahead of it goes green, and then it drives off! This means the starter signal at Drumlish is yellow, then turns to green (and I have seen it on red, changing to yellow). Had I driven on without waiting, I would get this train in the platform at Ballinamo and it will then seem to never move off. Any ideas? (NB. I tried using the jump ahead options and this extra train did not seem to appear; but if I drive it all the way from the start, then it appears).

Odd, it definitely seems to be being caused by the following change in 1.5.4 on my main box:

  • Fix: Departure occurring at the terminal station.

Have made a slight alteration to the conditions & this build now works OK at my end:

I'm using v1.4.365.967 as my default version at present (have got rather behind with things, sorry!!!) and I couldn't get the pretrain to display in the Cwn Twpsin routes, either when jumping stations or driving the full route. And these routes have been released for almost four years now, with nobody complaining of this happening.
So, glad you've fixed the glitch, Chris. I know it's a nightmare working on the program coding, like walking on glass Smile

The (one) warning that shows at the start loading these routes never seemed to prevent everything from working and I never got round to finding why it appeared. If anyone knows the answer then I will fix it for later.

No the problem's still occuring. Get to Drumlish, siganl is red, then turns yellow. Use F3 to look ahead to Ballinamo, and there is a train identical to the one I am driving coming into the platform and stopping. Any more ideas? Edit: On Ballyfeckin-Ballinamo1A.csv. And have downloaded the version given above and it displays as v 1.5.535.1183-travis.

If you wait a minute or so, you should find it departs with the newer build. (Giving you a dunno, 15-20s wait at the final red signal)

This would appear to be as designed, although I will double-check the exact timings when I get back from work Smile
