Can one of the knowledgeable members identify the purpose of the devices by the trackside, ringed in this picture?
(the pic was taken by a friend in the Milton Keynes area of the UK. He thought I might know what they are, and I honestly haven't a clue)

Wondered if it was a meter to send TOCs the electric bill for running a Pendolino Very Happy
(Obviously it's not!)

Nope, I believe they are low level floodlights, mostly used at night when turned on during engineering hours and can be found by pointwork areas on the track
