Objects disappearing too quickly
Have just a quick question, I am trying to knock a small route together as a bit of a first attempt, but I'm finding that certain objects disappear a bit too quickly when the train goes past them, if that makes sense. Like they're only there for half the time they are meant to be seen for, when driving the train. How can I get round this please?
Many Thanks

By default, an object disppappears once you have moved past the block in which the object resides. You can get around this by shifting the coordinates of your object such that you can attach it to a track position further ahead (which will usually mean lower z-coordinates) or by setting Options.ObjectVisibility 1 in the route file.

Velaro,
Would you be able to explain your second idea, like how to do that? I'm not entirely sure I know what you're talking about...(I am still an amateur!!)
Thanks
Tom

Re: Objects disappearing too quickly
This isn't usually a problem unless the object is quite a long one. In which case, using this example, where there's a a face with z co-ords starting at z=0 and finishing at z=200. Use negative values instead, starting at z=-200 and finishing at z=0.
This will affect the placement of the object, as the negative z co-ord version will need to be positioned further ahead in .with track than the original.
Try it and you will see!

Thanks for your reply Graymac, much appreciated. This mostly makes sense in my head, only thing being is that the object in question is not one of my own but a bridge that I 'borrowed' from NWM, so presumed it would work fine, I can see the advantage now of building all of your own objects!

Options.ObjectVisibility 1 is just a command that you place in your route file - either exactly like that or as .Visibility 1 in the With Options section. See here.Tstageman wrote:Velaro,

You are quite right about the advantages of building your own objects. If you wanted to release your route when you have finished it, you would have a serious problem if there were NWM objects in it as they are not publicly available. Far better to own your stuff than borrow from elsewhere. Plus you get the feelgood factor being able to say "I made that!".

In a easy one sentance reply, the developer did not go by the 25m rule for objects.
