Greetings, tutorials?
Hi All,
I've been lurking on the site for some months, while dabbling with OpenBVE on my Linux system. I've had some fun driving on NWM, and been admiring the impressive work folk have published on other routes. I'm hoping to make some time available to try and develop a route, but it looks a little overwhelming! Are there any good tutorials available anywhere? I've looked at the links on the "College of Knowledge" on this site, but they appear to be broken...
Some advice on development tools would also be useful. I've downloaded Blender for Linux, and will have to try and get my head round the art of object development.
My ambition would be to develop a route from the present day Stratford-upon-Avon to Honeybourne along the North Warwickshire line. This stretch of line was closed in 1976, but an active group is campaigning to re-open the line. So my route would be fictitious initially, but may become real later!

Re: Greetings, tutorials?
Dennis Lance has an excellent tutorial. It's been deleted from the web, but the Wayback Machine still has it. Here's the link to it:

Good luck with your project!

Re: Greetings, tutorials?
One of my unfinished projects has been tidying up and re-formatting Dennis' tutorials. The process kinda got shelved a while back, but it's on my list of things to finish properly

This set of pages contains everything up-to the section on building platform objects, which has been kinda superseded by the platform generation abilities of TrackGen-

I haven't got as far as sorting out & uploading the objects / starting points for each tutorial, but they're on the wayback page phontanka linked to.
Another unfinished project is this:
http://www.bvecornwall.co.uk/downloads/beta/DTBeta.zip
This is an All-In-One toolbox for various conversions and calculations, plus some tools I've written for my own use (Renumber objects, correct cant, move entire route)
Any specific questions, do ask and someone will probably have an answer
Cheers
