New Class 47 releases.
Today I've released a Virgin Cross Country version of the Class 47 with a 7 coach Virgin XC Mk2f set.
Go to Bve4Trains for a look as insert a link to a screenshot does not seem to work on here!

Re: New Class 47 releases.
Tried the cl47 831 Virgin Cross Country Passenger OPEN on the 08.32 [47] Maybank-Ludgate Hill via loop Tour Special route. It was nice to handle but the 47 did struggle in places and didn't quite make 90mph until well into the long run on the second part of the electified mainline. It held 89 for most of it but then it is a 47! They are still my most favourite loco along with the Class 60.
Re: New Class 47 releases.
Do you mean it could do with a slightly higher top end Bill?
It would not take that long to rewrite it get to 95 on the flat, although I've got it up to 98 by cheating on NWM!

Re: New Class 47 releases.
Yes, Steve. I was expecting bit to manage the 90mph over the secondary diesel only route but it just never made it, although 89mph was reasonable enough. I wouldn't think it requirs much of a boost but will have to leave that figure to yourself. Other than that I was very pleased with the look and feel of the 47.
Re: New Class 47 releases.
So was Tony Haylor, Bill!
So he sent me some new figures for the config.
But I really need to make it get up to 95 on the 4 track bit on NWM, but only if you drive it correctly.
Please don't forget that what makes the 47 is all Martin Corbett's work and what an excellent thing it is thanks to him!

Both of the Virgin XC passengers have now been revised and rereleased and also the 47587 Network SouthEast passenger version.

Re: New Class 47 releases.
Downloaded the revised 47 this mrning an dhave since given it a trial. On the same route as previously. It managed to reach 90 mph with some to spare. I let it run until it reached 92 berore easing it back to 90. Fron Norton Jct it just managed to touch 90 by the time I got to the double yellows for Frankley Jctn, so was quite happy with that. On the longer run on the main line it reached 90 plus without feeling that it was over powered over the distance and was able to shut down two notches and cruise easily for a while. The run felt more realistic. I am happy with the revised version. Thanks for the time and trouble taken.
Re: New Class 47 releases.
Tony's config there Bill, so it actually took me about 20 mins running one of them in NWM to find out how they performed.
I am a bit unsure why you seem to want to get to 90 though.
A 47 is passed for 95 and the coaches 100mph.
So you can do 95 mph as the loco has the lower top speed.
I suppose you didn't get to drive one that fast! lol..
As someone who has driven them I am pleased you like the class 60's by the way.

Re: New Class 47 releases.
I was just using the 90mph as that is the speed the 47 couldn't manage to reach. As it managed to get above 92 I was happy that the improvement had been made. I also used a 20mph check to see how it recovered and it did just fine. The next time I run the route & train I will go to the maximum 95.
Re: New Class 47 releases.
well ihave run it and i dont have a problem due too the computer speed its an absolute dream too drive

I agree, Chris. It looks the part and handled nicely. The external view is also very good.

Re: New Class 47 releases.
Well, they are not what I hope to do Chris.
But what I hope to do is a Virgin West Coast Mk2 set, it has a Mk3 Buffet etc in the set and a DVT.
Although the next release will be yet another Virgin XC, although the loco is not in Virgin livery.
But it is a Virgin 47...

Re: New Class 47 releases.
All three Class 47 Virgin Cross Country previous releases have been tweaked and Central Door Lock lights added.
Also a new 47840 'North Star' and 7 coaches has been released all in Intercity livery.
Coming Soon!
Mk3a coaches, Mk3 DVT and possibly a Class 87 external.

Re: New Class 47 releases.
This morning I've released light engine versions of all four from yesterday and corrected an error in the 47811 Freightliner (ex FGW) container flats released a year or two ago.
I never noticed I had left off the ETS/ETH or the Orange bits on the bufferbeams of a 47/4.
The light engine version of 47811 is unchanged as I managed to put ETS on that one!

Re: New Class 47 releases.
Hi Steve,
All your trains look excellent they are very detailed. Unfortunately, my graphics card is not powerful enough to display the external views without a big descent in FPS.
Have you considered making low resolution versions of some trains?
Jorge

Yes Jorge I have but it's a time thing it slows down new work so at the moment it's get a larger card I am afraid, but I may do so later on.
Although I did spend quite a bit of time last year making replacement route objects for NWM as someone had removed his permission of use despite posting otherwise at one time.
So I did the trains and numerous other's did or provided the other route objects for the next release of NWM.
I've also just released Virgin Cross Country 47828 'Severn Valley Railway' on a West Coast Mk3 plus DVT set.

Re: New Class 47 releases.
Now released BR blue 47840 'North Star' double heading with Large logo blue 47847 'Brian Morrison/Railway World Magazine' on the 'Cross Country Locomotive Farewell' from 2002.
It's configured as both engines powered, despite the fact you can't do that in Open Bve.
So I am sorry 847 does not add to the noise... sorry sounds..

Re: New Class 47 releases.
I've been testing these on some new diagrams on a beta NWM, and as always cannot fault them. It's so refreshing to see some Pullman cars and some new Mk2 coaches. The detailing is superb, and with new liveries for some of the 47s it makes the downloads a must!
47580 with over 600 tons 'on the hook', (11 + dead 47), is a bit of a handful at times. I'll be surprised if anyone can arrive on time unless you get a very clear run.
Super job, Steve.
