Hi all,

I started developing a new route some three weeks ago mainly through the frustration of the pace of the progress with updating Paul Jobber's wonderful London Underground routes. It can at times take longer to work out the approach to something in the route as you were not the original developer than actually producing anything. So now I only have myself to blame if my progress is slow.

The route is only a short one consisting of a sprint along the Cornish mainline between Penzance to St Erth before taking a left turn onto the St Ives branch. Once you stop to pick up the staff it is only a gentle 30mph trundle to the end of the line. It's a 20 minutes run in total.

Bye for now,

Stephen.

Hi all,

Work, life and other things like lounge shopping have taken their toll on my time available to code.

Hi all,

I have finished all the curves on the mainline, started working on creating modular passing scenery and finish putting in the track work within Long Rock Depot.

Approaching St Erth with the Home signal cleared for our arrival.

Will hopefully get some more spare time to make some more structures. Apologies though as this is identical to my post on the BVE Terminus Forum.

Bye for now,

Stephen.
P.S. Do we have a FGW HST 'dynamic lines' livery set available as I would like to showcase them in the route?

Hi all,

Work has again taken me away from home this week, though I did have some spare time in the evenings to work on a FGW Neon Mk3 coach set. I still have some tidying up to do and of course the power cars.

Here is one of the set. Being used in route stabled in the sidings at Long Rock.

Bye for now,

Stephen.
PS If I have got it wrong, I am more than willing to send you the set and have you make the corrections.

Just one mistake that I can see - HST coaches have no buffers, and that should be a standard class coach. Apart from that - great work! Something to use FGW stock on!

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. I have used the Mk3 Sleeper as a base and seeing that they're loco hauled they have buffers. I have put together a TGS, FO, BUFFET, TSO and a first class guards which as you say is incorrect. I will remove the buffers for use in a HST formation but leave a TSO as is for inclusion in overnight sleeper train.

If someone a bit more local than me (12,000 miles away) can provide me with a typical consist to go between the two power cars it will be appreciated. Different versions of the route will either have a HST set in Penzance station or parked in Long Rock for all to see.

Bye for now,

Stephen.

Hi all,

I have now produced a set of Mk3 coaches in FGW Neon livery comprising of TGS, TSO, TRUB and FO with no buffers. Still to modify a set of power cars.

Also put together a Night Riviera set in FGW Neon livery comprising of the original Sleeper and a BFO, TSO and RUB with buffers. This set will need a Class 57 to go with them.

A typical long distance formation would be (this is according to Platform 5 numberbooks):

LA01 - Power Car + 41023 + 41024 + 40755 + 42034 + 42033 + 42007 + 42035 + 44011 + Power Car

In English, that is Power Car+FO+FO+TFKB+TSO+TSO+TSO+TSO+TGS+Power Car

As for the BFO's (now unclassified, but fitted with First Class seats and have the yellow stripe), they look like normal Mk3's from the outside, except that the stripe runs out towards one end. There is a slightly longer gap between the 6th and 7th window. That's all I can see from photos picked up on the internet

Hi all,

The FGW Cl 57 is still very much a WIP but I thought I'd post another screenshot.

To me, the headlights look a little small. Having said that, it's been a very long time since I've seen a 57/6.

Nice work!
