LNER J15 7564, is seen being prepared for its days duties, on a cold morning at Weybourne. 16th February 2013.

Great Eastern Railway 0-6-0 Y14 class were first introduced in 1883, built mainly to handle the increase in coal traffic from Yorkshire.  289 locomotives of this type were built, with production continuing until 1913.

Withdrawal of the earliest engines began in 1920, but 277 passed to the LNER in 1923, and were the largest single class inherited by the new company. Under the LNER, the GER Y14 class were re-designated LNER J15 class. GER 564/ LNER 7564 is the sole survivor of it's class, and is preserved at the North Norfolk Railway. The loco has had an overhaul in recent years, costing in excess of £350,000, and has been reunited with its original GER identity and running number.
