MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=3.2 mono ./OpenBve.exe

force upgrade OpenGL version, and run OpenBVE.
And check 'Enable the new renderer' at a option menu.

sudo apt install -y mesa-utils
glxinfo | grep "OpenGL version"

To check at your PC installed OpenGL and mesa.

This is my Ubuntu's driver.
