100% GPU usage on ObjViewer after a certain resolution
After passing a certain resolution in ObjViewer, the GPU usage will be skyrocketed to 100%.
This does not happen with the RouteViewer, nor the main program.
This also doesn't happen on the old 1.4.3.1 ObjViewer. Only after 1.5.0.10
I have tried messing with different options. Nothing seems to help either
"certain resolution" seems to be randomized on an interval.
I have tried updating my GPU Driver, reinstalling Windows, but nothing seems to change (It's also unlikely I will get another GPU soon)
I have an MSI GTX 650 Ti BOOST 1GB
Can anyone reproduce this? (Is there any way to diagnose if my system is the only one that can reproduce it?)
Thanks!

Re: 100% GPU usage on ObjViewer after a certain resolution
There's nothing to do with the resolution settings. It's only the initial launch resolution.
This happens when I try to resize the window to an larger resolution (and it sometimes happens with the default resolution too)

Re: 100% GPU usage on ObjViewer after a certain resolution
Can't immediately reproduce here.
(Win 10, GTX1060 6gb)
Object Viewer will quite happily resize to 2440px by 1560px & GPU usage remains around 26% (GL 1.2) / 17% (GL 3.0) with a random exterior loaded.
What window size triggers it?
Would be interesting to see if switching between GL1.2 and GL3.0 changes it, and also if loading something helps / otherwise.

Re: 100% GPU usage on ObjViewer after a certain resolution
Nope, I got the same fps and CPU/GPU usage on old render and new render (around 20-25 fps)
I have no idea what window size will trigger it, but full 1080p will 90% trigger it
It almost felt like the window resolution to make it lag fluctuates, as everytime the condition to reproduce the lag is different, this makes it even harder to diagnose as what went wrong (And is it just an hardware specific issues)
I've swapped my motherboard & CPU, so I think there's something to do with the GPU. Though I have no idea why
Also no, no matter if I load an object or not. It will still be the same.
Loading more objects won't affect my fps either unless the model is enough to bring my fps below 20-ish fps

Re: 100% GPU usage on ObjViewer after a certain resolution
I think that what resolution write, we can not recognize it.
Even if it is as default.
You have to write the default resolution value and 100% GPU used resolution value.
Because we cannot test.

Re: 100% GPU usage on ObjViewer after a certain resolution
The default resolution I have is 943x482
Sorry, I can't provide the resolution of 100% GPU, it changes constantly.
But full screen (Full windowed) will cause 100% GPU on my machine
This does not happen on another iGPU machine I tested on, nor do I see any reports of this behavior

Re: 100% GPU usage on ObjViewer after a certain resolution
I will boot to Ubuntu later and see is it Windows's fault.
Mind asking what versions of ubuntu are you running on?

Weird, doesn't seems to be able to reproduce the lag on Linux.
*Note that it is lubuntu 20.10, ubuntu just straight up freeze with a checkerboard pattern for me.

Re: 100% GPU usage on ObjViewer after a certain resolution
It's going to be driver related then.
You're not running MSI Afterburner / Dragon Center on Windows are you? (Obnoxious pair of bits of software, if you are they can be dumped)

Re: 100% GPU usage on ObjViewer after a certain resolution
I have MSI afterburner installed, but I have disabled the startup item (At that time I don't have afterburner opened either)
And no, I don't have Dragon Center

Re: 100% GPU usage on ObjViewer after a certain resolution
Now that's interesting, it seems to be somewhat related to VRAM.
When the VRAM is full (1GB is not alot, it always fills up when I browse websites), then launch ObjectViewer at full screen, it will eats up all GPU usage.
When I free some VRAM however, a few seconds later the usage drops back to normal.
Note: I did not resize ObjectViewer in the process
But RouteViewer and Main program does not get affected by VRAM (Obviously there will be more lag, but the usage is only around 20-30% fullscreen)

Re: 100% GPU usage on ObjViewer after a certain resolution
Switched to Intel HD 630 (8GB shared VRAM)
The problem no longer exist on default resolution, but still happens on larger window (1660x900 or higher) for whatever reason. (And the VRAM is not maxed either)
I still don't have a consistent reproduction unfortunately, even swapping Motherboard, CPU, RAM and GPU (Also Wi-Fi adapter and other usb devices) does not help with this alot either
