BVE update?
What is this annoying pop-up about BVE update with version 1.4.3.2? It advertises some web hosting service and I cannot find a way to stop it appearing every time I go into the BVE start menu page.
It's not news and it's not an update. If anyone has a solution I would like to have it!

Re: BVE update?
I imagine it's tied in with the hosting used by Mr Ward for distributing his version of the OpenBVE program.
Although some users have reported improvements in graphic performance with this rewrite, I'm still using the v1.4.3, the last released "official" version which can still be found. (I saw this, which may be useful: https://sites.google.com/site/openbvesim/Download )
A copy of the program files (for windows) is also to be found on my celtictrainsim site

Thanks for your reply, Gray, and for the info on some links. I suspected that the problem was with Richard Wards web host, I just thought that he would have more control over junk like this which is so unnecessary. Richard Ward needs to get this problem sorted.
I've been testing a new release of NWM on different OpenBVE versions, and I still prefer 1.2 to 1.4. You do need a really good graphics card to drive it properly though. Ver 1.4.3 is the best newest so far. Ver 1.4.3.2 does nothing extra, and crashes from time to time.

Re: BVE update?
LOL, talk about a good graphics card... to run my route properly, you would probably need nVidia 680 or above. By the way, happily running on openBVE 1.2 as well...
Re: BVE update?
I have an Nvidia 650 and First Brno Track runs just fine.
As far as OpenBVE is concerned, we should consider 1.4.3 as the latest and greatest, I think.

Re: BVE update?
That is strange, I have a Radeon 7770 (or 8760, the revised version), which is, according to benchmark ratings, is a bit "stronger". Yet I am getting about 8fps at certain parts of the route... although I was always saying nVidias are better with openGL than Radeons.
Re: BVE update?
Well, before the last tunnel it goes down to 12-17 or 25fps, but otherwise it runs very well.
Re: BVE update?
The CPU is a quad core Intel i3 at 3.4 GHz, I have 8 GB of RAM and 2 GB of RAM on the Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 graphics card.
Re: BVE update?
Strange, similar configuration as mine, although my CPU and GPU should be somewhat more powerful. And still I get lower frame rates... how hilarious is that...
Re: BVE update?
Might be a question of configuration (hardware, drivers, OS)
