332 External
Me again! Yesterday I found a rare gem of a high quality Class 332 (Heathrow Express)with exterior on my hard drive. It is a very high quality exterior with bogies and 3d objects wheels. The train is linked to the 170 from trainsimstuff with the 332 exterior. However there seems to be a little issue. When you put the train into anything near or into full throttle the speedo just jumps round and back along with strange rev noises. I've tried it using a 323 and a 357 set up (I copied over the ext_view, extensions and then rewrote the car section from the 332 train.dat) and still there is the same problem. When you load up the ctrl + v speedo it shows a constant acceleration; no jumping so is it a little bug with the file. If someone could help shall I send the file over too; it'll be help probably!

Or, more plausible, you're slipping. Apply less throttle, it's as easy as that ;-)

That's true actually! I've just tried starting off slower and hooray, no slip. The bogie animation file must include wheelslip. Thanks

I've found out why it slips; there are 11 cars programmed in; there is only 1 motor car!!!I've tried it with just the 1 car and it is fine so it is some more messing around with extension and train files now Now made 11 motor cars (still gives a 4 car set!) and no slippage; the one car was two under powered obviously.

This train seems to be a "animated bogie" 332 which i gave karn neil (niw deceased) to release in return for allowing me to use his mesh for a 333

Well, huh, Snowhill, that's a rather normal train configuration. A train's no car, neither in braking - nor in accelerating.

Id also say you need either 3,4 power cars, the rest non power cars, and the weight of each car id do roughly 43 tonnes divided by 9 or 12 depending on what car set up there is

Erm... A carriage of a DMU/EMU surely doesn't weigh less than some 25 tonnes^^

No, but when the cars have been times by three to allow two bogies per car, the user then needs to divide the weight to balance it out.

No need to get aggressive, I just pointed out something that had struck me; you could've explained it in a calm manner. 'Cause I have further questions for understandment, but somehow I suddenly prefer to keep them for myself and ask someone else.
The 'veal sausage' is still in modelling stage, however I have some ideas about how to texture it. Though I wouldn't wonder if I start yet again from scratch... Horrible mesh.
