Ever though of animation. This idea boggles my mind. The banners you see at stations. Would it be a good idea if train times were animated?

GrayMac has already animated some of his trains, and the clocks at Waterville station.

It is definitely a good idea to see some objects moving. Depends on the situation though, every single thing needs to be considered not to go overboard and "animate at all costs".

P.S.: As you have noted, topic was moved, since it belongs here and to section where you can express yourself towards the forum...

For more information on the .Animated object format see the developers guidelines on the OpenBVE Official website. To be read with indigestion remedy at hand. There is also a short demo route downloadable at that place which shows some animation possibilities with simple coded examples.
