Class 163 - beta II
Hi folks,
the second beta of the class 163 has been uploaded. It contains animated lights on both ends and also animated pantographs. Check it out and post feedback.
All necessary info on controlling the engine is to be found on my website and/or within the archive itself.

Hm, a week has passed and no feedback... with one exception being told in privacy... nobody had a go?

No need to apologize, I was just wondering... the sound unfortunately stays as it is a part of the engine. May I suggest turn the volume down...
and check the controls, before you go.:-)

Re: Class 163 - beta II
That "noise" is the most realistic transformer hum on any electric train I've found so far. An electric motor on startup is demanding about 7 times full load current and the transformer is working extremely hard to supply that current. I think that is a brilliant effort on your part Derryck.
And yes, that is seven times full load current.

On your website...
The engine has been given a whole new cabin, minor changes have also been carried out on its external. This is still a beta version.

Thank you, it needs an update... apparently it did not store the new text.
Re: Class 163 - beta II
I was searching high and low for the download, before I realised it was updated!
Downloaded it and had a quick go, not much feedback I can give except that it's quite nicely done!
One question though, what is the standard practice in normal operation, raise both pantograph, or only one of them?

Usually only the rear considering the direction of travel is raised. If you are interested in more details, let me know-
