OpenBVE Remote Control
Hi all,
I have some question for the developpers.
Is it possible to drive the trains and the signals remotely?
I'm looking for a 3D visual train simulator in order to interface with some models (line interlocking equipment and train simulation)
I have seen in China a simulator on which you can send by udp the different informations : trains positions and the signals states (red/green lights...rail switch position... doors open/closed)

Re: OpenBVE Remote Control
Nope. Currently no freeware simulator I'm aware of is able of doing this, only professional (very expensive) software can do it. Though it certainly would be great, if OpenBVE were the first freeware sim to do it - this would move the whole industry a lot. Out of a sudden, training simulators would drop in cost from tens of thousands of Euros (and I'm talking the cheap ones here) to just a little hardware cost, which would make personnel training a lot better, easier and cheaper.

Re: OpenBVE Remote Control
Thanks you for the answer. In my case it's not for training people juste have a 3D view of the trains positions on the line. I'm not experienced with OpenBVE (just test it) but someone explain me that there is a future "multiplayer " version...
How you will managed in term of software architecture, clients communicating to a server with a specific protocol?

I live in Tianjin and I never heard any game about it.
Did you mean a actual simulator to train subway operators or just a game?
By the way Minecraft Realtrainmod might be a good option for you.
You can download it there: With VPN if you are in China Mainland
Re: OpenBVE Remote Control
I was not speaking about a chinese game but about a real simulator to train drivers.
