Re: I am Listening to...
I can't decide whether that's one of Eivør's poppy or one of her rather individual songs, but it definitely is good =D

Re: I am Listening to...
Many people say that recent music is bad and commercial. While most of it is, there are still good bands, which make decent rock music these days. However, a deeper research is needed. What a voice as well!

Okay, I am officially in love with this song... And I am not even (yet) a fan of GoT due to the (from all I hear about the series, unfortunate) fact I have never seen it - yet xD

Re: I am Listening to...
Let us man up a bit then. Here goes something for classic rock fans. The second song resonates the band themselves - Nirvana to me. Anyone else feels the same? Wait till you are home alone and turn the volume up a bit for the second song.
Warning - the lyrics might be a bit explicit at some moments.
Re: I am Listening to...
Having just gotten home from the local dark culture party I'll listen to your links some time later and will now stick with what has been put on my ears for the last several hours:
Saltatio Mortis - Prometheus, a song about Prometheus giving mankind fire, thus liberating mankind from the olympic gods, giving the power to burn and the power to understand.
ASP - Zaubererbruder (brother witcher) and Der geheimnisvolle Fremde (mysterious stranger) from the Krabat cycle, a musical adaptation of a sorbian/wendish legend dealing with the topic of black magic and the difficult way back to the light side. Note; second song starts at 20sec mark after the channel intro.
Eisbrecher (icebreaker) - Schwarze Witwe (black widow), basically a BDSM way of love songs =D
Another take on the same topic: Tanzwut (dancing mania) - Bitte Bitte (cover, originally sung by Die Ärzte); "pretty please, let me be your slave" is the chorus line
"Paulas Spiel" ("Paula's Game") by Neue Deutsche Härte (new German hardness, a sub-genre of Rock music belonging to and influenced by dark culture) band "Janus" is a great example for one of the important facettes of dark culture; while we definitely aren't all-time-depressive like some outsiders like to claim, many songs do deal deeply with the subject of psychic problems. We don't glorify them (again a common claim by outsiders) but we embrace people having them like no other subculture, which does of course lead to many of them turning to us; because we accept them as they are and because dark culture songs dealing with their problems depict them as they really are. And "Paulas Spiel" is a very thorough depiction of someone suffering from borderline (if you don't know what borderline is, please read it up. Chances are you know somebody suffering from it and it's important to know how to act towards them).
And to finish back on the brighter side of life Schandmaul (evil tongue) - Der Teufel hat den Schnaps gemacht (the devil invented booze) in its international version, including Germany-based modern irish folk band Fiddler's Green singing in English:

He's fleeing from their truth, while there's time, while he's not one of them, though at the risk of staying alone because of this; that's how much I can understand from the text. But I'm not sure about anything else

Given the current events in Europe, I think this song is very fitting.

Re: I am Listening to...
Well, the Irish live music scene is well an truly stuffed, thanks to the Covid-19 virus. The arts generally are suffering dreadfully. I got seven guitars and nowhere to go play any of them.
Here's what I've been listening to on YT, great talented young musicians.

There'll come other times as well... Let's hope, our artists etc. survive that long.

Re: I am Listening to...
I think the "music industry" as we know it is going to disappear. There will always be talent though and it will find new ways to express itself, given time. Much of what sells, or gets downloaded by the masses isn't necessarily "talent" but you can't dictate good taste. Give the rabble what they want.

Listening to...
Well I'm a rock and metal guy. Not entirely sure how that'll come across but there we go. I'm listening to the "songs for the deaf" album by Queens Of the Stone Age

Great. I'm a rock and metal guy too. Only "too much of it" is the reason why I'm the deafest guitarist in Co Mayo (and maybe Connacht, or even the whole of Ireland, who knows?)
So, you younger guys, enjoy but stay within safe dB levels - I have to stick with "unplugged" these days!

Well, saying one for Mr. graymac and one for Mr. Quork was meant rather geographically, not neccessarily hitting your note, guys. :-D
Anyhow. someone post a marching song, after a long long struggle I got back to check where I have stopped a few months ago
