Re: curves
I'm not sure what happened to it. I frequently use the "switch" track building utility to obtain my curve data. It's handy for building platforms, especially since the "Platform Generator" formerly on Easypeasy's site is no longer available.
Re: curves
These aren't the ones you're thinking of, but similar:

If I remember rightly, the one you're thinking of was hosted by Smace; I'm ferreting at the moment and will see what I can come up with.

Edit:
Doesn't work on Office 2007 or newer. Attempting to fix, give me a few hours.....

Re: curves
Right, I've re-uploaded the above link
The archive now contains one additional file- curved_object_new-2014.xls
The macro has been repaired to work on current versions of Office (I've only got upto 2010 to test, but it should work on 2013 and Office 365), and I've done a little tweaking to the macro.
When you open this file, you should now have three sheets available-
Documentation is in the first sheet, your curve data etc. should be added in the second, and you just then need to click the Create Curved Object button & copy the results from the final sheet
Edit: You may also have been thinking of Alfred Barton's sheet for diverging curves. This is still up here:
http://www.virtualrailroader.com/diverge-calc.html
This is also now up as a page on my site, not going to go frontpage news about it mind.....
Cheers

Re: curves
If you want an alternative to Switch, try RailGen from my site
Works just fine on Windows 7.
Alternatively, let us know if you need instructions for running Switch, & I can write up a set.

Re: curves
@jc - I use win 7, the trick is to install a free prog called "Dosbox"
http://www.dosbox.com/download.php?main=1
which will allow you to use Switch with no problems.

Re: curves
I might also have a spreadsheet created by the author of the old legendary Switch program. Anyone interested<
Re: curves
Another utility to build curves and switches still available for download and working under Windows 7 is TrackGen by Nils Busch.

To note, I'm currently the 'official' (I don't like that but still...) host for TrackGen.
Current release from my site is v1.23, which has a couple of minor extra options and a fix for Windows 8 compatibility.
