how do I download routes trains in BVE5 Empty how do I download routes trains in BVE5

I changed my pc loaded with XP a couple of years ago to a laptop loaded with Win 7 and found that I was unable to use BVE2 & 4 however I have just discovered BVE5 and have it operating on Win 7, but only with the Japanese route, can I load the uk routes locos to BVE5 and if so how, I'm not particularily bothered about running open BVE but not adverse to doing so. Please be patient as I am now 73 and not quite as sharp as I used to be

As far as I know there is NO compatibility between older bve items and bve5. I think Mackoy has a converter program of some sort to convert bve4 routefiles to allow them to load in bve5. It won't work with openbve files.
You can run OpenBVE on a win7 machine and that will allow you to run the older material as well.
BVE5 uses a very different architecture and as it is relatively new there is very little material available apart from the Japanese work. Lack of english documentation has meant that hardly any UK/EU material exists at present for bve5
