Why not buy it! And the add-ons. It's only money, you can't take it with you
Re: Train simultor 2013????
I love that saying grey! my grandpa used it all the time
To the original poster, i bought it for 7.99 on steam two days ago, and to be honest, its great!

It's a pretty good game, but be prepared to spend more money on addons as most are payware
Re: Train simultor 2013????
Speaking of good addons, the WCML North (with Class 390, and the UKTrainSim freeware scenario pack for it, which requires some other things like the Class 66 and Class 67 - yes - there is a great dependency hell), the Glasgow Airport Rail Link (it's a bit short, but very realistic and includes a free Class 380), the Isle of Wight (LU 1938 stock, and some networks depend on it), maybe the Woodhead (and class 77) if old electric routes are your thing... maybe the Portsmouth Direct Line (although it is a bit longish and probably should have included the bit to Waterloo - because running suburban stopping services from London termini are one of my favourite things in a train simulator, too bad BVE lacks them)

Re: Train simultor 2013????
just another note on this, i bought me a Microsoft Xbox 360 controller for PC from argos for £25, and railworks 4 (ts2013) is enhanced even more, every bump, cross, switch give a force feedback through the controller, that and the triton headphones gives you a really nice driving experience.

Re: Train simultor 2013????
I bought it not too long ago and I like it. It is pretty good. The only thing that really gets me steamed (bah-dum-tishh! ) is that i would be in the middle of a scenario, doing just fine when all of a sudden the game switches to a rotating exterior camera and my train grinds to a halt and I get a message that says player train derailed and I didnt even do anything! Its even more annoying when it happens in a long scenario and I have to restart from the beginning. I've started getting in the habit during long scenarios that i would press save often so if i just randomly derailed, I wouldn't have to go all the way back to the beginning. I hope they release a patch soon to fix those random derailments.

Re: Train simultor 2013????
My girlfriend just got me it for my birthday - and whilst it's graphically better than BVE - not just literally in image quality or in how the lights and windscreen wipers are the same inside the cab as they are viewed outside of it - but also in terms of presentation of scenarios. However the cab interface whilst useful when outside of the cab I found wasn't quite as interactive as BVE - you feel a window between you and the train, unlike in BVE where you feel that you're one with the train.
I know, that sounds silly doesn't it? Of course by pressing F4 I think, you can toggle the control windows off, which isn't too bad.
Although on a paid sim, it is irritating when details don't work properly - there's a tunnel mouth on the Brighton route which is completely transparent which I'll have to sort out.

Also, don't expect too much realism... I once saw Micro$haft's TrainSimulator (the previous version) at a friend's. Well... Virtually every control was connected wrong. The pantograph control knob was used as PZB Wachsam (something like AWS alert cancel), the main switch knob as Sifa (vigiliance device) etc.

Re: Train simultor 2013????
I have TS2013 - am getting to grips with it - there is lots of material available, not necessarily payware, but my advice is to make sure you have a PC which has the "guts" to cope with the high level graphics, otherwise you'll be disappointed. Do your research first before committing to it. But I'm still a BVE supporter, and I'm still here.................!

Re: Train simultor 2013????
/\ What John said. I'll use it, but as there are only so many affordable routes for it I'll hold back. Whilst I've no issue spending money on addons - pretty much happens with most games on steam - everything on BVE is freeware or donationware. I've found the freeware available for TS2013 very tricky to install because the folders are difficult to find.
