[URGENT] Need important help with OpenBVE on Win 7 64 bit
For some reason, I tried the trick with the 3 dll files d3drm.dll, dx7vb.dll and dx8vb.dll and the command prompt and I installed and have all of the dependencies but the game only lets me get to the main screen, select my train and my route except when it goes to the loading screen,
it crashes every single time and it says "OpenBVE has stopped working". Can someone help me solve this please?
Thanks, Benson

Re: [URGENT] Need important help with OpenBVE on Win 7 64 bit
Hi Benson,
I am running on Win 7 Ultimate - 64 bit and experience no problems. There is no need to have the files "d3drm.dll, dx7vb.dll and dx8vb.dll" in your computer for openBVE, since it does run on .NET framework (not D3D). Have you tried with various routes (trains). The error can actually be in the route file...

Wasn't that a trick to get BVE running under Vista? Nothing to do with OpenBVE.

Re: [URGENT] Need important help with OpenBVE on Win 7 64 bit
Here is the complete description. It is working, tested it myself on my old laptop. Works for both older version of BVE -> BVE and BVE4 also.
BVE (2 + 4) on Vista
BVE (2 + 4) on Vista

Well I even tried it without that trick and it still didn't work, the same thing kept happening. I don't know what I need to do in order for it to get working but since I just found its a 32 bit program I might as well make an
AIO Windows 7 32-64 bit DVD and install the 32 bit one, I would just need to know how to keep my NVIDIA Drivers on my Laptop.

Re: [URGENT] Need important help with OpenBVE on Win 7 64 bit
What route are you trying? What train are you trying to use? Also, Windows 7 x64 is a perfectly fine system (XP is getting slow, old and inefficient by the day), if your laptop has NVIDIA Optimus turn that off so that only the NVIDIA GPU is used. Also, 7 is also in x86 but you should just use x64, because when you happen to have 4GB of RAM your system only recognizes 3GB, so that 1GB extra is a waste of cash that could have been spent on something else.BNPL wrote:Well I even tried it without that trick and it still didn't work, the same thing kept happening. I'm trying to use the Toronto Transit Commission - Yonge, University, Spadina Route and the Toronto Transit Commission T2 Train but I even tried the T1 and it still doesn't work.

If you want to try it yourself, the download link for the route is:http://web.archive.org/web/20020614190356/www.crotrainz.com/DownTTC.html
The download link for the T2/Toronto Rocket Train is: http://trevordaybveworld.com/download.php?view.75
The T1 Train is also at: http://trevordaybveworld.com/download.php?view.64
If you could do that, and it works then I will end up changing my system to Windows 7 Professional 32 bit.

Re: [URGENT] Need important help with OpenBVE on Win 7 64 bit
Hello,
I have the same trouble with this route on Windows Vista 32 bits.
-> the trouble cames from this route.
PS: This route is very very long to load (4 minutes on my computer)!

Hm...I asked some other friends and they say it works fine on their Windows 7 32 bit computer so I'm guessing I should switch from 64 bit to 32 bit then.
Iunno, but I'll keep your code for future reference, although, how do I even edit it? Is it a program that comes with it?

Change the line with position 21850 etc into this line
- Code:
21850@dikeend(0) @dikeend(1) @railtype(0,0) @railtype(1,0) @wall(0,1,9) @wall(1,-1,9) @station(Spadina,11.4350,11.4410,1,ats,TTC_YUS\spadinal.wav) @freeobj(0,16,0,0,0) @freeobj(0,7,0,0,0) @freeobj(1,24,0,0,0)

You can edit the route with your favorite text editor (Notepad....).
I've found the trouble of the very long load:
- Code:
fix: (in TTC_YUS.rw)
change 1157500@signal(3,,2,3.5) by 11575@signal(3,,2,3.5)
PS: If you PM me your e-mail, I can send you the fixed file.

Re: [URGENT] Need important help with OpenBVE on Win 7 64 bit
Okay, thanks for the new YUS Route File, I got it...but I still need to install Windows 7 Professional 32 bit before I can run OpenBVE, and I'm downloading the Windows Automated Installation Kit right now, but because I'm actually trying to make it an AIO x86-x64 Windows 7 DVD, I still have to wait for the x64 iso to finish downloading since I have the x86 one.

Re: [URGENT] Need important help with OpenBVE on Win 7 64 bit
Alright, so now that I actually have Windows 8 installed instead and my drivers updated, intel graphics 4000 and NVidia gt 630m, I tried using OpenBVE, and no more problem with the loading screen, except when I get in the actual game, the route doesn't show and the train doesn't either which is weird, the train sounds are working too and I previewed the route in the route viewer and it seems perfectly normal! o.O
Please help me and tell me what I need to do for it to work!
