I've found a great app for remotely controlling your pc via an iPod Touch. Now i've got the app all I need now is an app that can start up AND shut down the pc from my iPod. (It does not matter if they are seperate apps). However i've been sourcing the net most of the evening and have had no luck. I found Off Remote which looked good, but was hard to set up for me. Can someone shed some light for me? Much appreciated!

If you can control your PC, you can trigger the shutdown process, either through Start or a shortcut linked to shutdown.exe with the appropriate parameters.

As for startup, it's not possible.

Joey's right, there's no way to enforce power into your PC to turn it on. You would have to leave it running.

Bleh thanks for help anyway, i'd rather leave the pc off when away instead of having a huge electricity bill that the parents have to pay then to the fact the PC is melted because it has been boiling hot for 2 weeks left on. You know who to blame next... Very Happy

I think it was possible with some iOS app.. A friend showed it to me once... not sure if it only works on LAN or also on the other side of the planet...
