Hello lads!

Just thought I'd say goodbye for a week, Due to me working with a security firm, their wanting me to work down in Peterborough till Tuesday! so wont be able to keep a close eye on you all! Am sure Graymac and Viccy will still be at it with the jokes and i'm sure Derryck will find out whether His CGI women are infact too curvy or just his taste in women show in his routes!

Either way lads! have fun and catch you all in a week or so!

If you need me you got my E-Mail, if not PM on here and it'll go straight to my phone inbox Wink!

Have a laugh and keep it ( more or less) clean!

Hope you have an enjoyable week in Peterborough. Never been there myself, all I know about it is from the "Inspector Banks" novels by Peter Robinson (recommended reading, are you seeing this Jamie??).
The fictitious Inspector who grew up in Peterborough chose to live in North Yorkshire in the end, so what's not to like about Peterborough I ask LOL

I remember reading some books about some copper in Yorkshire. Seemed like either an early version of Heartbeat, or a Rip-off...
It was very similar... Being based in the North York Moors.
Maybe the same author?

Robinson's no "rip off". His Det. Inspector character isn't a beat plod like the 'Heartbeat' stories. TV series is based on author Nicholas Rhea, 'Constable' books. Diferent as chalk and cheese and IMO "Heartbeat" is definitely cheese.

Ahh it was indeed the Constable books I read. I knew if I saw the name I would know it.
And I think Heartbeat used to be good. But they've just raped every idea senseless now. It's turned a little too predictable.

Crime fiction isn't a big thing in my book but even so I did enjoy Peter Robinson's stuff. Any Terry Pratchett readers on here at all? That's more my sort of fiction when I want to be entertained. And, though it is getting a bit dated now, Tom Sharpe is great for a laugh, recommend all his stuff, Some (Blott on the Landscape, Porterhouse Blue) have been televised, but try 'Wilt', 'Ancestral Vices', Riotous Assembly', all good for a laugh as long as you are not too much of a puritan as the subject matter is often risque!!
