Karl Nielinn

The sad news has just been posted on Facebook that Karl Neilinn, known to the BVE world as Karlneil, has died. I'm sure we will all speak with one voice to express our immense thanks for Karl's contribution to BVE during his short life, and to extend our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. I would post a link to Facebook here, but forum rules prevent me from doing so.

I'm aware that Ben Leahy will shortly arrange a dedication to him.

All this arguing aside i would like to say a few words about a good developer OpenBVE has lost for good.

Karl neil has passed Away which i believe was the 18th of February.

BVE4TRAINZ will release his mesh of the 332 in a 333 version and will attach a word pad file. so please. if you wish to be mentioned ( regardless of anything) please comment here.

God rest your soul Karl! you was a good laugh to work with!

Indeed this is tragic news. Karl's prodigious output and enthusiasm could put many lesser followers to shame. Our condolences to his next off kin. May his soul rest in peace.

Ah well, R.I.P Karl. Thanks for the fantastic H&C Line. (It's doing well on UKTS btw, 1297 downloads!)

EDIT: Anyone know how he passed away?
EDIT 2: I've planned for a tribute video to be posted this weekend in rememberance of him.

R.I.P. Karl. As others have said already, he will definitely be missed among our community. Although in recent times not active, Karl Neilinn produced some great content for openBVE, which I'm sure will be used as inspiration for people, and proof that this guy had the talent to make something be realistic and not even live in the country. I pay my respects to his family at this time.

Karl was suffering from Duchenne`s muscular dystrophy, which causes severe heart failure, until his heart did`nt capture the... more, but he always tried to take the maximum out of life. Thankyou! Thanks to the viewers of this site karlneil's family (mother especially) saw the thank you message, and posted a nice reply which can be found on BVEWW forum! When initially uploaded a RIP message my site had 13,500 views.. but thanks to you we had successfully got the message across with 2822 page hits in 19 days!!

that is roughly 150 views a day! the numbers include karl's home adress IP too which shows his family got to see the message!

Ben, if you do get to communicate with his mother, or any of his other family, please to do pass on both my condolences and them of all of the British BVE community. And do please mention, that if she needs anything at all, that we're all her for the whole family!
