Re: Guess the station!
It's Galway. Knew it was on that line (GL signal code, as it's not controlled from CTC)
Couldn't have been the Rosslare, Sligo or Ballina branches, 201's are banned on those routes (hence 22000's and 2-4 2800's)

That,s right. That pic was taken in 2001 before Dublin CTC was in place. You get to post the next one to puzzle the Brits!!
Re: Guess the station!
The Koreans have replaced the good old 201+Mk3's on this line (and most others)

Re: Guess the station!
I think I recognise it from the new footbridge, and if I'm right you didn't go very far from home for that pic. But I want to give someone else a chance to get into Irish Raillways so I'm not saying it just yet . . . . .

No guesses?
OK - clue two - the name is the same (apart from a space) in both Irish and English

Re: Guess the station!
Lets face it, not very many of the English users are remotely interested in anything outside a 25 mile radiaus of London. I can't blame them as I'm not interested in London myself. But it's disappointing nobody makes an effort. A shame there aren't many Irish fans, but even the Irish don't seem to give a feck for Irish Railways.
Pathetic!

Re: Guess the station!
Shame really - when I was in England I didn't really care for anything inside a 25 mile radius of London! (Expect the good old slammers)
BTW, how are download figures for BWR?

Re: Guess the station!
Its a bit further out of Dublin than Monasterevin, but you have the right line at least.

Holding up well still, even though nothing new since Christmas. Visitors from all over the world including some places I was surprised there would be any interest!!

Re: Guess the station!
Close - 10 miles out roughly - head south-west ish
Big difference between Portarlington is the fact this station only has a very slight curve, whereas Port. has a curved platform (and a 'branch line' to Galway/Westport)
@Graymac - seems we have started more interest in Irish Railways!

Christ, I hope so!!!!
Re: Guess the station!
Correct Derryck! I was the one who helped Graymac make the 201+Mk4 sets, along with some other little bits (all taken at Port Laoise station!)

AND provided some nice cab shots for the next upgrade of the 22000 class DMU (original withdrawn due to non-compliance with CC conditions) no release date yet.
Re: Guess the station!
OK, my turn.
This time, we will try to see whether you can search and show interest in Czech railways. Here goes - it is not far from my home )

Re: Guess the station!
It looks like a new station, but I could be wrong. On Google Maps now, in and around Brno

Re: Guess the station!
The station is now approx 2.5 years old and is situated around 5 kms away from my home. My home station is Brno - main station (the closest one) and the winner is Joey, since the depicted one really is Brno-Lesná.
Your turn, Joey.
