Stations 4, 5, 6, 7 etc etc
Many routes (NWM for example) contain Stations 2, 3, 4, 5 etc where if you don't stop you will lose your "stopping bonus". Having slowed the train right down on approach, cancelled all the AWS horns, crossed the AWS track magnet, you then receive a warning that you should have stopped, even though the signal ahead has already given you the right of way, often with a feather indicating a crossover. Whilst I'm not going to lose any sleep over "dropping" stopping points I just wondered if these could be cancelled or overridden in any way.

You could change the stop commands to 1 or -1 so you get the marker telling you where to stop, and you could change them to something like -1;25;25, to give you more stopping space. The existing command will be .stop 0;number;number,

I believe the extra "stations" are part of the signalling mechanism, to enable the feather to work correctly on approach. Not sure quite how, though.

Approach-controlled signals. Signals that stay red until you are close enough before turning green/yellow to make you slow down. Using stations are a easy workaround.

Thanks for your responses Gents - I think I'll leave things as they are, my main challenge is to try and get the train in on time and not necessarily gather brownie points on the way, although the occasional "superb" or
"excellent" does wonders for your self esteem.........!
Thanks once again,
John

Have just read the Read Me notes on the NWM and it is a "known error" to be ignored

This can be corrected by editing the .csv and putting P as arrival time for these pseudo-stations.

Emmanuel is referring to the .csv route file. You need to study the .sta instruction in the "with track" namespace. For all the settings and options for .sta look at the info on the csv route file here:
http://trainsimframework.org/develop/index2.html
Take your time, the .sta has a lot of parameters to appreciate, it's probably the most complex item in the route file.
