Walking Ex Railway and Coal Mine tramways around Radstock
After walking the Ex S&D from Bath to Chilcompton I got interested in the numerous coal mines that covered the area between Radstock and Midsomer Norton.
There had been over 70 mines at one time. Quite a few were linked directly to the S&D or the GWR lines by their own standard or narrow gauge tramways with
a number of steep inclines involved. Here is a link to the web pages I have formed from a number of outings during 2020. Some are still on-going as they require
more visits but sadly I ran out of time to the Autumn lockdown. I hope to be able to continue my walks in the Springtime once we get free from the lockdowns,
hopefully! I hope you find something of interest.
