I definitely have no glitches on any platforms on the linked version of that route.

On my main machine I've got a pretty decent increase in FPS too with the latest build-
1.7.0.3
Cab ~90
External ~50

1.7.1.0
Cab ~50
External ~20

Current
Cab ~150
External ~90

I'll see about trying it on the laptop later (integrated graphics), and see if that'll give me any clues.

Hmm...
Just found a rather obscure glitch with motion blur (took me far to long to get to the bottom of it too.....)

Don't think it was the cause of your issue, but it's one less glitch anyways.

Current plan is probably to push an updated stable build tomorrow.
This brings the speed of the new renderer in *most* cases to be either better or similar to 1.7.0.3
The 'old' renderer is still somewhat slower at the minute, but I think this performance fix is needed for some people.

Will still be working on this too.

I will try it today later w/o motion blur and tweak some more settings to see if I can get better fps, and also the original version of the route.

Something that is only partly connected to this topic (didn't want to start a new thread just for this): it seems to me that in the January 1 build that the Enable new renderer string is not translateable, at least I couldn't find it in the language file. Chris, can you make it translateable?

I'm still trying to get someone with a Mac to test this build to see if it even loads at the minute before I blindly punt it to public Sad

This evening I did a test run with the OpenBVE 2020 January 1 build. I've added the figures below (in red). They are higher than the figures of the December 21 build, but don't reach the figures of OpenBVE 1.7.0.3.

- Budapest Tram Line 57:

  • v1.7.1.0: about 48 fps
  • v1.7.0.3: about 230 fps.
  • 2019-12-21 build: about 79 fps
  • January 1 build: about 150 fps

- Menvár (1 Használtcikkpiac-Vadaspark.csv): 

  • v1.7.1.0: about 35 fps
  • v1.7.0.3: about 120 fps
  • 2019-12-21 build: about 50 fps
  • January 1 build: about 90 fps

- Nagybörzsöny-Nagyirtás (Nagyborzsony-Nagyirtas.csv):

  • v1.7.1.0: about 20 fps
  • v1.7.0.3: about 60 fps
  • 2019-12-21 build: about 28 fps
  • January 1 build: about 27 fps

- Portarlington (1320 Heuston-Portarlington route file):

  • v1.7.1.0: about 45 fps
  • v1.7.0.3: about 180 fps
  • 2019-12-21 build: about 60 fps
  • January 1 build: about 80 fps

- The Plymouth Route (package version 1.7.0.1, 1960s, 81xx route file):

  • v1.7.1.0: about 60 fps
  • v1.7.0.3: about 200 fps
  • 2019-12-21 build: about 80 fps
  • January 1 build: about 120 fps

HKHOS Kwun Tong Line Route:

v1.7.0.3: about 24fps
v1.7.1.0 & 2019-12-21 build: about 8-10 fps
2020-1-1 build: 18 fps

Tsuen Wan Line with Winsome M-train(updated):
v1.7.0.3: about 38 fps
v1.7.1.0 & 2019-12-21 build: 27-30 fps
2020-1-1 build: static 38 fps

I've pushed 1.7.1.1 today, which should have a couple more (can be very marginal depending on routefile) improvements.

Am still working on this issue actively, but decided it was important to get the boost out there rather than waiting longer.
The lighting change from the last page has been added to the official errata also- For the minute it applies only to the new renderer.

Latest daily has a couple more improvements in the new renderer, and fixes a a couple of glitches in it for good measure.
(Wireframe colors not right, and semi-transparent objects with both daytime and nighttime textures)
