Re: Notice: Major update of TrainEditor
Is there any way to adapt it to .NET 4.6? Anything newer is supported by Windows 10 only.

Re: Notice: Major update of TrainEditor
Okay then, thanks
the error it threw has sent me to another MS page that tells I can install .NET newer than 4.6 on Win 10 only
Update: installer throws the same "OS not supported" error, I'm on Win 8

Re: Notice: Major update of TrainEditor
Um, could you install it?
I'm not good at English...
I'm glad to check if it can be started.

Re: Notice: Major update of TrainEditor
Oops, 4.7.2 can be installed on Windows 8.1, but not on 8.
Re: Notice: Major update of TrainEditor
Yeah, I'm really excited to test it. I could install the openbve build, but not .NET - installer stops becuse it doesn't like Windows 8.
I can try upgrading to Win 8.1 - my laptop insists on it frequently and I never agree
but I'll let it do it this time.

Re: Notice: Major update of TrainEditor
Thank you for the update, I wished I didn't have the first post of bad news... well actually it seems to be an on-going problem for me. If I try to run either "MotorSoundEditor.exe" or "TrainEditor2.exe" I get the following error "No available texture & sound loader plugins were found, please re-download Openbve"
I have NET framework 4.7.2 as required
Windows 7, 8GB RAM Core i7
Entire Data and Plugin folder set to allow read/write, all files in plugin folder are marked unblocked. Windows Defender is turned off and no other AV is running. Every other loader works flawlessly.
I did notice one thing from looking at your videos, the installation has an empty "Train" folder. My trains and routes are in the Addons folder which is in another file directory C:\xxx\xxx\AppData\Roaming\openBVE\LegacyContent\Train while this Installation is in the Programs folder. Should I copy and paste a train there?

Re: Notice: Major update of TrainEditor
Well, Mr. Delsin also encountered a similar error.
I want to investigate.

Re: Notice: Major update of TrainEditor
There is no need to copy the train folder.
You just have to reference the file from the import.

Re: Notice: Major update of TrainEditor
I am wondering if I need to download any codecs.

Re: Notice: Major update of TrainEditor
You shouldn't need any codecs- These are built-in.
I've tested on a couple of boxes, and can't find anything initially wrong, sorry
Before we try anything major, a stupid (??) question-
Have you tried the main game from this download?
It'd be useful to know whether this also exhibits the problem.

Re: Notice: Major update of TrainEditor
Everything else in that pack works, Openbve, Traineditor, objectviewer, routeviewer, etc. No errors on anything. Only the launchers that deal with playing back sound... so strange. All my PC sounds work, however I do use an external sound card.

Hmm...
Try this build, making absolutely sure you overwrite everything (if you've downloaded one earlier today, it was refreshed c. 30 mins ago):

Re: Notice: Major update of TrainEditor
Unfortunately no success on that build either, all other programs work but not traineditor2. LOL me and Delsin may just have to be two black sheep here,

Re: Notice: Major update of TrainEditor
Just downloaded it. This came up first.
https://i.servimg.com/u/f52/20/11/20/84/a7cd0f10.jpg
Then the same error about Plugins not found. I also did a system file checker on my Windows 7 installation, no problems found.
[edit] changed to just a link

Re: Notice: Major update of TrainEditor
Please tell me the folder path where the downloaded device is located.
What happens if you put it in the desktop folder?

Re: Notice: Major update of TrainEditor
Now that looks somewhat familiar
Try this build (Refreshed just now):
https://vps.bvecornwall.co.uk/OpenBVE/Builds/OpenBVE-2019-09-11.zip
If it's what I think it is from that error box, it's this:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/configure-apps/file-schema/runtime/loadfromremotesources-element
There were major issues with this when it was first introduced many years ago, and it took a *long* time to figure out WTH was going on.....

Re: Notice: Major update of TrainEditor
You have solved the problem!!! Somehow, lol. Finally, in the latest build 9/11/19 TrainEditor2 opened right up with no glitches. (when the little circle loading icon was spinning I was at the edge of my seat haha) Thank you leezer3!leezer3 wrote:Now that looks somewhat familiar

Re: Notice: Major update of TrainEditor
So I finally updated my Windows and TE2 is now able to start. However, it throws a "wrong header format" error whenever I try to import any train.dat files
