BVE Victoria Line
Perhaps someone can help me with this. Below is a screenshot of the start of the Victoria Line simulation. Please note that there are files missing, errors, and warnings. I have run the simulation with no problem so why the notifications. To my knowledge, I have installed the simulation correctly and in the right folders. I would only add that I do have another BVE installation with the Central Line on it but the 'Open BVE' installations are not the same versions: one for the Victoria Line (the latest 'Open BVE' version) and the other for the Central Line (an earlier 'Open BVE' version). Whether this has anything to do with the errors, missing filles, and warnings shown on the Victoria Line simulation I don't know although the 'Central Line' shows no problems on its simulation.

Re: BVE Victoria Line
To see the nature of the problem you need to look at the "error log". Three steps (see picture), one, click on "report problem" in the program's start window. Two, click the "view the previous log" option. Three, a notepad text window will appear with the errors listed. (the illustration below lists what loded, there weren't any errors in this example but if there had been they would have listed. Anything like unavailable/missing files, incorrect instructions etc.) This should give you the clue to solving the mystery.

My thanks to you for that but I must confess that the report does not speak to me in layman's terms so that I can fix the problem. Below are screenshots of the report which may mean something to you but is double-dutch to me I'm sorry to say.

Re: BVE Victoria Line
A small number of errors is nothing to worry about
In this case:
Generally speaking, anything under about 30 errors or so is 'normal' & unless you're seeing graphical issues these can be ignored.
In this case:
- The train was built using the BVE2 version of Train Editor. This has an issue which inserts blank (unused) notches if the train has less than 8. These are noted but ignored by openBVE.
- A couple of object numbers have been declared twice. Again, the first is ignored and this is noted.
- A couple of broken / missing files.

Re: BVE Victoria Line
You use Victoria Line version 4.1 right?
I believe that there was a version 5 being worked on I think it was Greater Anglia Metro who was developing. But there haven’t been any updates for a long time, the last update was in 2016 and I think the project may have been put on hold or abandoned, hopefully the former for the time being.
The errors you get are probably caused because the route was made with an older version of openBVE. I use 1.5.2.1 though and it seems to work ok though

Re: BVE Victoria Line
Yes, it works fine with the latest version of 'Open Bve'. There is now only one problem I have with this simulation and there is nothing I can do about this; it concerns the view of the signal aspect at Walthamstow Central platform side. I cannot see it because I don't have all round camera vision; not having a numerical keypad on my keyboard means I can only use F1, F2, and F3 for viewing which only give cab and left hand side vision. There is no way round this I believe unless I'm mistaken!SP1900 wrote:You use Victoria Line version 4.1 right?

Click the right mouse button, it allows you to pan the view.Terrence1946 wrote:Yes, it works fine with the latest version of 'Open Bve'. Go to Customize controls and change a few settings to ones you prefer. Then try again
